Whatever he did to deserve such kindness from Ignia, Root wasn’t sure, but his opinion of the young woman was definitely raised do to her coming to help them out, even if he had it all covered and could take care of it himself. Root stared at Taro with an angry look, but apparently he was too injured to even apologize, yet just moments ago he was fine enough to make a rude comment like he did.
”Hmph.” Root turned away from Taro and looked towards Mariko, glancing towards Ignia who had saluted him. He wasn’t that much older than her, but it was nice to get that sort of respect from someone, anyone. And… usually it was sarcastic if anyone did such a thing to him, but he didn’t feel like she meant anything but respect by it. “You don’t have to leave, Ignia. Just the gaggle of idiots staring. And... there's no need for a salute.” Root shot a glare towards the dispersing crowd before he smiled slightly.
However, then Taro spoke, and the words that came out of his mouth were not ‘I’m sorry’ followed by a Taro fainting. Root rolled his eyes and let out an annoyed sound. “Idiot. Fine, fine bring him to the nurse. But make sure he knows when he wakes up I would love to have a word with him.” The one who had been helping him before, the SHSL Common Sense User, helped Taro and worked on dragging him away. Of course, if Taro woke up, he would be able to stop the Common Sense User and decide for himself what he would do in that case.
Root looked between Ignia and Mariko, deciding that Ignia deserved at least an explanation, and after such an embarrassment, while Root liked seeing Mariko like this, he didn’t want her to feel so embarrassed, all for his sake. ”It was a bet. I’m sure if she doesn’t deliver on the bet, there is some sort of repercussion.” Root looked towards the club room then back at Mariko. “Hey, if you want to go, I’ll take on whatever punishment you’d face because of it.”
