"Hello Dorothy, it's very nice to meet you. Since introductions are in order, I'm Nero Fiammes, and you already know my talent. I'm so glad that you liked my cookies! I was worried I made them too sweet, but as long as you're happy I'm happy." confessed Nero with a sheepish grin. He had been a bit nervous coming in, but with that compliment it set him at ease.
He smiled as he bit into a cookie. "My sister and I made them specifically for us applicants, so feel free to take some more if you want! And if you find your sweet tooth in need, I'm sure I'll be able to help!" said Nero with a great smile.

Orica stood there as around her other Aspiring Ultimates came into the room, introducing themselves and started to talk with others. These people were far too relaxed after her words, but for her to be taken aback by her lack of effect would be a weakness. These weaklings must just be unimpressed by her words. No matter, it was her actions that truly mattered and she would have time to show them all why she was going to win.
Then someone came up to her and then asked if she wanted to team up before running off to ask someone else. Following behind this Ren she tapped her lance to the floor again to get his attention. ”It seems that in your haste you have assumed too much of someone you have just met. I am not interested in joining an 'alliance' with you. The mere fact that your first action is to seek the aid of others means that you are truly weak and deserved to be thrown out of here already. There is no way a weak person such as you will have any chance of winning.”

Dorothy was glad that Nero enjoyed her compliment. She had seen some students in school that couldn't really deal with being complimented and brushed them off, which she thought was kinda sad, especially since she had talented classmates as well. If they were as talented as her, though, then her classmates most likely didn't apply, since otherwise she would've recognized their faces.
Nevertheless, Nero had her attention for the time being.
"Ah, is that so? That's great! Please do remind me to check out your bakery when this competition is over, yeah? Das wäre nämlich sehr freundlich..."
At that moment, Ren came along and asked Dorothy if she wanted to be part of an alliance. After mulling it over for a bit, she couldn't really decide, especially with the very imposing Orica nearby.
"Can I get back to you on that? I need to think a little more."
After she listened to Orica speak about weakness, all she could think was: "Yeah, yeah... Weak, weak, weak, yadda yadda yadda. Looks like you have more muscle than brain up there..."
Dorothy then turned back to Nero. "Thank you for your kind offer on the cookies, by the way. I don't just have a sweet tooth, I've got a mouth full of them." She flashed a grin in his general direction.

|
[attr="class","box2"]“Oh, I haven’t introduced myself?” muttered Caelie softly, her expression showing hints of fluster – a gentler smile, a succession of quick blinks - as she looked away, breaking their gaze. It was just for a short while though, as eyes were met once more when she answered “Caelie Ariane. I'm an author of proper detective fiction.”
It was at this point when a very stern voice boomed, one that came after the distinct tap of a spear against floor, and Caelie couldn’t help but turn her attention towards its source. The knight’s initial speech was something that she had manage to catch, and she severely questioned Orica’s decision to give what amounted to a rehash of similar sentiments. On one hand, it’s harder evidence about what her ideals were. Admirable, in a way. On another though, it simply attracted unnecessary attention.
In extension to those thoughts, tendrils of judgement had also slithered their way towards this person called Ren. Really, getting called out this early on in the game? Closing her eyes, Caelie suppressed a sign and looked away. With an apologetic smile towards Yuichiro, she brought out the magazine from behind her back. Holding it near her chest with a hand on each side, her eyes darted down to it before going back up to the singer's.
“How does it feel to be in front of cameras like this? With an audience so much bigger than mine, the pressure to look perfect increases accordingly, doesn't it?”

► Yuichiro Yuuki 281 Emil Kowalski is a member of his music group | Caelie Ariane... Caelie Ariane... Kay-Lee... Yuichi closed his eyes, trying to remember if he's seen or heard that name somewhere before. After a moment, he opened his golden eyes and he lightly nodded. "Oh yeah, I think Emil reads your novels. I knew I've seen or heard it somewhere! So, you're the Aspiring Ultimate Writer or s--" The reverberating sound of a lance smacking the ground gripped his attention, cutting his words short.
Both of them listened to the young woman for a moment, during which Yuichi frowned for the first time since he walked in. The idol admittedly didn't catch the drama with this oddly familiar looking doctor, but Orica gave him an idea. After she concluded her minor rant, Yuichiro muttered in a facetious tone, "How magnanimous."
While they were all "contesting" for places in the new academy, he for one didn't really see the point in making the competition so dramatic. Frankly, part of his hope was just to meet new people. For a long moment, he was caught on this train of thought, until his new acquaintance grabbed his attention again. Bringing his eyes down to the magazine, he smirked.
"Oh, it's not too bad. I've gotten pretty used to it, so I'm not really antsy about this. Though I know some people probably are." He looked around at everyone. Some of them probably didn't have a nervous bone in their body's, while others were probably really nervous. "I never go out without looking my best, anyway. You shouldn't worry though! You look good, and seem well composed!" The urge to give a flirtatious wink was strong, but he held back, assuming this girl wouldn't appreciate that.

blue Ghost
you saw me standing alone
| "God fucking dammit...."
Voices, the room was filled with them, with all kinds of sounds, laughter, annoying noises and there was no way out of it. Clearly, the events that caught and put the boy into the very prison that was this place, would have been all avoidable if he had just dodged better. Now he was here and prayed to all gods he could think of that they wouldn't choose him. Once he got the rejection, he could return home and shrug it off with a simple 'I did my best.' Reading his favorites and enjoying the presence of nobody.
For that, Gorou would have to wait though. Nervously scanning the area, he tried to use his stealth skills to avert any attention from him, covering his face with his hoodie, casting a shadow that would hide any of his intentions. The very fact that the old geezer had potentially closed the room from the outside was driving his fantasies crazy. What if this would end in a bloody massacre? What if that guy was a serial killer? What if any one in this room was a serial killer?! Maybe Gorou's imagination began to cross a line but there was no chance of escape.
The seventeen years old teenager, Gorou Kikuchi, was trapped in the social zone. His chances of survival were astonishing slim. He continued to grumble, clearly not comfortable with the situation, nonetheless from the corner of his muddy red eyes, Gorou spotted something: Food. Swiftly making his way towards it, he grabbed as much sweet stuff as he could carry and pressed his body against the wall, squatting down with a slightly blessed expression on his face. |

"Liam, look. Drama's happening* Kris said, and pointed at the Ren and Orica. Orica was a person. With a spear, and in a suit of armor that made Liam's breastplate look like a Fiat compared to a BMW. And since Krzysztof was under an impression a ruler has to know a slight bit of diplomacy she did not seem like a future ruler she claimed to be. "That seems to be the knight you were telling me about. She did introduce herself as Orica..."
The impression Kris got from Liam was that he needed some motivation to show his inner strength. He could gladly give him that. He took off the Lil' HK mask and goggles and tucked them back into his pocket.
"Hey, how 'bout you walk up to her, and let her know she has actual competition, huh? I can come with you, if you need." He said, smiled, and then he turned his head back at the Princess Knight. She lacked...respect towards her fellow competitors. It's one thing to be proud of oneself, it's another thing entirely to dismiss the others.

"Kris, a-are you insane?"
Out of all the people he could have said, he said Orica. Quite possibly the most threatening person here.
"I can't just w-walk up to her and say s-something like that! She'll k-kill me! I don't want to die before I find out if I made it on the show!"
Look at her. She's built like a tank. She probably has the strength of one too!
"I don't t-think you b-backing me up is going to help. She l-looks like she could bench-press a car.
In what world would me telling Orica that she has competition end well for me, or Kris? I really don't want to get my face smashed in already.

Nope. Now's not the time. He's way, way too scared to look like a worthy opponent to someone like her. Krzysztof's face froze in deep thought. Think, Kris, think. What could help Liam boost his confidence? They do seem roughly equal in height. He already has a weapon. And a shield. So it's not the matter of armanent. What if...
"Alright then. I have an idea. Come with. We gotta see what other Ultimates there are." Kris said. "Maybe you'll make your best impression on someone else"
That's not all he had in mind. There sure is a matter of boosting Liam's confidence, but... Liam needed one more thing to match Orica. A sick suit of armor. You always feel safer and more confident when surrounded by metal. It's preferable if that metal comes with a V8, but as much as it'd pain Kris to admit, it'd be practically unusable indoors. So, he also had to find an Ultimate Armorer or something along the lines of that.
That, and he needed to see more of the competition

"Y-Yeah, lets go m-meet the other contestants, though I doubt they're going to be too impressed with m-me. Look at everyone else here. All of their talents seem so unique and interesting."
Well, one can only hope they're nice too, or at least nicer than Orica. Not that it's hard to be nicer than her. I guess I shouldn't be saying that, I shouldn't be thinking such mean things about the others.
"I don't think any of them are going to be as nice as you are, unfortunately, but y-yeah, we should go meet them."
There are a few interesting personalities around here. There's the enthusiastic doctor, though he seems busy at the moment. There was also a pink-haired girl that sounded like she didn't want to be here, the singer who seems determined to find fans of his, and of course, Orica, and plenty others. Who to start with?

A tremendous voice filled the room, Mayumi turned to the source: the armored princess of Schwertfeld. Orica, was it? Yeah, definitely it. Even though she had a virtuous goal, her standoffish and malicious behavior disgusted Mayumi. She put on her headphones to drown out the noise, which soothed her for the time being
Her eyes darted across the room, gazing at the other Ultimates that had recently entered: a pesky doctor trying to gather an alliance, the shady-looking novelist who fell for the narcissistic idol, and an… interesting character to say the least. He bore a grumpy expression and was squatting in a corner, shoving the superficial baker's sweets into his mouth. He certainly was an oddity, but there was something about him that seemed intriguing. Suddenly, she felt the presence of someone watching her.
She swiftly turned her head to see Liam, the obviously inferior knight in both spirit and power, and Krzysztof, the self-centered and competitive aberration. The two were conversing about standing up to Orica, but the conversation shifted to greeting other contenders. Liam was looking directly at her, most likely thinking about talking to her, and the two locked eyes.
Yes, the duo were incompetent and feeble, but in an environment like this, she should act more politely. She barely knows anything about them, so she shouldn't judge too harshly.
She stood up on her red sneakers and put her headphones around her neck.
"Is something bothering you two?"

[attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"] ❝ Shafts of hair impaired her vision slightly as her gaze was averted to her notebook, the tapping of a pencil against a page coming to an abrupt halt. Noting the ongoing conversations around her, the pencil began to move frantically across the page, filling it with neat yet inky black handwriting. Her attention once more shifted completely to the notebook in which she clutched to her coat, wisps of grey hair falling down upon it and threatening to mess up he writing. Even so, her hand moved steadily and with ease- one could tell simply by looking at the girl writing that she had grown accustomed to doing absent-minded stuff such as this. But, perhaps not so much in the midst of large crowds, and that was evident by the way she very subtly fiddled with the fur lining her hood.
After awhile of staring and pondering as to what she should do, she decided that she'd approach someone. Among many others, a few certain people stood out, and she decided to twirl her pen along her notebook to see which one the point would land on. Before she could even take a shallow breath, the point had already landed on someone- and, that someone was no other than herself. Releasing a breath she didn't know that she had been holding, a tiny chuckle rippled out of her throat in slight amusement at this. Truly, she would only be talking to herself after all. Except, she seemed to take this a little too literally as she approached a wall, and with a deep blue gaze as blank as the surface in which she stared at, she began to absently voice her thoughts aloud to nobody but herself. Or, the wall, if that counted. "Hi. Hi Wall-san. Yes, I'm doing good... how about you? Good as well, I see. I'm glad. Well, Wall-san, there is a lot of people here... I find them to be quite interesting. A lot of them are really different than what I'm used to seeing. I think unique would be the best word to describe them, actually. I wonder if..."

And of course I accidentally lock eyes with someone, that someone being Mayumi Otsuka, the Ultimate Graphic Designer, if I remember correctly. She looks kind of annoyed at me. Great. Just met someone new, and I'm already annoying them. Perfect.
"O-Oh, uh, sorry. I d-didn't mean to stare. It's just that Kris wanted t-to meet some of the other contestants for the show, and w-wanted me to come with him. W-We didn't m-mean to annoy you. Sorry."
What kind of explanation was that, Liam? There's no way she's gonna believe that, even though it's the truth! You are the worst at social interaction. The absolute worst.
"But, i-if it doesn't bother you, d-do you want to talk with us? Only if it d-doesn't bother you. Sorry."

Mayumi was surprised by how kindly Liam responded to her. Prior to applying, she barely had any friends, and the ones she had she was never super close to. Liam seemed like a nice fellow. Self-loathing, klutzy, and pitiful, but nice.
"So you're Liam and Krzysztof, right?"
She thought the nickname 'Kris' sounded too womanly, and she hated everything the slightest bit feminine, so she tried her best to pronounce his name correctly.
"Heard your little exchange over there, and I thought it'd be nifty to get to know each other."
Mayumi definitely wasn't herself right now, posing as this 'friendly character' started to drain her energy - but not as much as being around these wankers. Then again, at least she wasn't socializing with the degenerate talking to a fucking wall.
"So, what do you want to discuss?" Most of Mayumi's social experiences were a result of her watching online videos about how to properly mingle with others, meaning she has awful social skills.

374 words notes: interaction~ A PERFECTLY CONSTRUCTED ALIBI Oh, well Kaizo seemed really super nice! And Orica too, even though she was very, very wrong. Ren was gonna have to teach that girl a good lesson on how things are supposed to work. She was silly, but it did make Ren laugh when he dragged Kaizo over to the Four Horsepeople who had not yet actually all agreed to form, but he knew it was gonna work. They just all clicked. Cute girls and cute guys. Though, Ren wasn’t sure if he was wanting to showmance any of them. Maybe Dorothy, she was cute. And Orica was cute too but seemed a bit too muscle-headed for him, but who knew? Maybe he could melt her cold exterior. Ren was totally into girls but Kaizo was pretty freaking cute too. After all, scientifically it was silly to think he would only ever like girls. Still, he was a bit too early to think of any showmances for now. They didn’t even know they were going to be in the show or not, but if three of them or two of them got in, then he at least got an infrastructure up for those who made it right?
”Hahahaha, that’s funny, Orica. You’re the future ruler of your land right? I mean, I’m sure you already know this, but a leader always needs people to follow them. No one can be perfect, and I’m a doctor! I can help anyone who gets hurt! And Dorothy, she can speak to anyone in a different language! And Kaizo – he’s super strong, he’d be like your second in command. After all, no matter how strong you are, bacteria and viruses infect everyone!”
What are you doing? He had dragged Kaizo into a situation where he basically insulted this girl who carried a freakin’ lance, and Dorothy probably wasn’t comfortable with it, but he didn’t care. They should be fine, if anyone were to get hit it was gonna be him and it would make Orica feel stronger. Or something like that. Whatever. He thought it would be smart to correct her. After all, they would make a great team, the four of them.
“I mean, you can’t be perfect so you let others support the parts that are not as strong as others. I bet I could beat you in medical knowledge!”
