Although so many people have been called to be in the show, there was one person, a certain girl, that caught Dorothy's interest back on the backstage. She wasn't sure why, though. Was it her appearance or her talent? Hell if she, or anybody else, knew.
After the Polyglot was called in to be on the show, she was hoping that the girl she found an interest in made it in herself. Between herself and the other person, the pink-haired girl witnessed four other people get enter the foyer. The fourth one, Orica Eisenhart, being super scary, and Dorothy made every effort she could to avoid being looked at by her.
"Brr... Orica reminds me of a certain someone I know... She's one of the other competitiors? She looks like she could just smash our bones whenever she wanted... I'd better stay clear of her..."
But the next person in line... was the one she waited for! She heard the name "Sanura Simons" being called. When the Sand Magician got into Dorothy's view, she approached her right away.
"Congratulations on making it in! You probably heard me introduce myself before, but once again, I'm Dorothy Saotome! I wanted to talk to you because, well, you're so pretty! And I would love to know about your talent as well!"
"Ugh, great job, Dorothy... Now you look like a creepy, lecherous stalker... And you're not even an old man! You'd better be grateful if she doesn't think of you as a weirdo and runs away..."
She looked around from side to side until she thought about a suitable topic to talk about.
"Are you nervous about what to expect? I know I sure am! This is the first time I was ever on TV. My parents were on TV too, but not the rest of my family."
Dorothy was secretly hoping that she and Sanura could become friends during the show and once the show was over. She couldn't have too many friends, and Sanura does seem like a nice enough person.

Sanura was still feeling very happy from getting accepted. She probably could have came in at a higher place, but tastes differ I guess. She entered after the rather... rude princess knight was accepted. For Sanura she didn't seem all that much like a princess, more like a barbarian.
Walking into the mansion, she was immediately greeted by the girl who came in tenth, Dorothy Saotome. Upon the greeting Dorothy gave, Sanura felt like she had already gotten a fan, maybe even a friend?
"Salutations Dorothy, and congratulations as well on being able to make it in!" Flattered by the compliment and overwhelming attention right of the bat, she inched a little back with her left foot, but moved it back almost as fast as it went backwards
"I did not feel that nervous, I have performed before after all. Not for terribly big audiences, but still an audience. And you want to know about my talent? Then ask away, I shall answer any questions you might have."
She wasn't quite sure what to think of Dorothy yet, but maybe if she talked a little they could be great friends.

Dorothy fidgeted around with her fingers before asking Sanura her questions.
"So, what exactly does a Sand Magician do? I mean, Magician itself is a pretty broad term, I believe. For example, if I gave you a bucket of sand from the beach, what could you make with it?
Then the Polyglot asked what many would think is a silly question.
"What kinda sand are you more inclined to use? Sand from the desert, or sand from the beach? I'm sure there are differences, even though both are types of sand."
Then Dorothy nodded to Sanura's comment. "I see. Of course, you'd get an audience with a talent like yours. Although I think my talent is quite impressive as well, just in a different way than yours."
Dorothy then moved to the closest pair of seats she could find and invited Sanura to come sit down as well. Talking a lot while standing still would be boring, she thought.
"Oh, by the way, please don't think of this as an interrogation, okay? If you have questions about me, just shoot! I can answer you just about anything, unless it's too private. But you understand, don't you?"
The Polyglot hoped that the Sand Magician took her offer. She was always willing to learn, after all.

Well, it certainly did feel like an interrogation of some sorts, but Sanura didn't mind it all too much. This girl she was talking to seemed to be very respectful. Well, to Sanura at least. She quickly came with an answer to one of Dorothy's questions after she sat down next to her, moving the silver cape out of the way.
"The most notable thing a Sand Magician like I does, is create illusions with the sand. Mine would be in the form of pictures, art as you may call it. And the type of sand that I use? That I would assume to be Sand from the beach, as I had gathered it from all over Little Barcelona."
While she didn't know quite yet what to ask Dorothy about her talent, she had to at least give her a compliment after all the praise she had given Sanura.
"And please don't be worried, I'm used to getting asked questions all the time." That might've been just a tad bit of a lie, but a lie nonetheless "But I have to say, you're talent is just as magnificent as any other talent. Maybe even more than certain others. Since, that's what I think at least, having to study that many a language must have taken quite a while, which is most impressive I must say."
She was still thinking of a question to ask, but since it took a bit too long for her own tastes, she went with a more easy one.
"As a polyglot, how many languages do you understand completely so far?"

After getting complimented by the person she talked to, Dorothy's cheeks felt warmer than usual.
"Am I blushing...? No, that can't be. Why would I blush upon being given a compliment? She and I are similar in lots of ways, so there shouldn't be anything to be embarrassed about, should there?"
Like she did before, Dorothy acknowledged what Sanura said. "That sounds amazing! I'd love to see you perform if given the opportunity. Sand of the beach, huh? I think I could've figured that, since I don't think we're even near any kind of desert. Whoopsie!"
She nodded to when the Sand Magician said that she'd be asked questions all the time. Dorothy just believed what she said. If there was a lie or anything of the sort in Sanura's words, then Dorothy just didn't bother to call her out on the fact. Besides, she didn't wanna drive her away.
When Dorothy was asked about her own talent, she pondered for a bit.
"Well, I started out with Japanese and German, afterwards came English. Well, to get to the point, I can speak around 60 languages fluently. I could probably understand all participants here without the need for the translating headset that we got here. I also still plan to learn more languages."
With a swift move of her hand, Dorothy swished some hair out of her eyes. She wondered if sparkles came out if her conversational partner did that. She wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

Sanura, while having this conversation, noticed that Dorothy was blushing a bit. She didn't pay too much attention to it, thinking it was just a natural reaction of some sorts, giving a reply right after.
"If given the opportunity, I would perform for everyone present in the manor without hesitation." She was genuine about this, showing her talent is one of the things she loves doing best after all. Hopefully there is a place with a lot of sand where she can practice at some point.
She listened to Dorothy's answer and was quite surprised by the amount of languages she could speak. "My oh my, that is quite a lot of languages, but, that's to be expected from the Ultimate Apiring Polyglot, correct? So that also makes you the Ultimate Aspiring Translator in a way, don't you think so?"
While talking, she kept being annoyed by hair in her face because she moved around a lot before. So, she moved her hair back with her hand and it gently flowed to the back of her head. Satisfied, she moved her hands back to her lap while still sitting down.
