[attr="class","tgg"] [attr="class","TheGreatGatsby"] Somehow, Valentina was alive – and you weren’t quite sure how. Bringing people back to life should be impossible, shouldn’t it? Was this an omen that… they could come back? The Foundation surely would be doing even more in their power to stop whoever was behind this if that were the case – and if the foundation knew of this process then why didn’t they bring back those who were lost to the tragedy? The possibilities were endless, but the trial was over and there seemed to be no one willing to give explanations on what had happened. The weather is calmed down once more and the campsite seems to have basic survival rations ready to go for anyone to take, plenty for everyone to take and chow down on. The animals and the plants are calmed down and peaceful. The world however, doesn’t seem brighter than when the storms raged on – the loss of Rin and Kris weighing on the souls of the survivors. Outwit, Outlast, Outplay – those who remain have triumphed over the others – and the thought prevalent all around: What’s next? But the despair isn’t over – watching two executed and brought back, Monokuma laughs hopping down and grabbing one of the tiki torches handing it to Liam. “In remembrance of your coming out party, Upupupupu.” Monokuma waddled over to where the Cheshire and then patted the glitch’s back – or really just the air near his back. “My colleague and I need a few words alone.” With a ‘blip’ both Cheshire and Monokuma disappeared leaving Ai in her cocoanut. Ai scanned the group but she looked highly afraid of something. “I-I’m sorry…” With a similar ‘blip’ she disappeared presumably to a different cocoanut, leaving the students all alone. A cold feeling washes over each and every one of the students – was this ever going to end? Would they ever be saved? Why did Valentina get saved? How did she get saved? What would you even do to deal with her? Would she try again? Maybe you should tie her up – if you even can get to the point of that. Did this mean if they did something they could be saved too? Or was that just a dream lost in the waves? What was Cheshire’s goal? Why did they save Valentina but not Ren? They said it was intent, but was that really the case? For now, all they could do was relax and try to understand what was going on. Whatever spoils of this war remained were yours, at least of what remained… be our DEATH [attr="class","mizocredits"] [newclass=.mizocredits]width:90px;padding:1px;border:1px solid #969696;margin:5px;[/newclass][newclass=.mizocredits a]color: #d3f4ff;font: bold 6pt calibri; letter-spacing: 1px; text-transform: uppercase;[/newclass][googlefont=Muli][newclass=.TheGreatGatsby]width: 89px; height: 89px; border:1px solid #201f24;transition:.7s[/newclass][newclass=.tgg:hover .TheGreatGatsby]filter:invert(100%); -webkit-filter: invert(100%); transition:.7s; border: 1px solid #f0f0f0;[/newclass]

[attr=class, mbox] Valentina walked down from Tribal Council after talking to Nox to meet up with the rest of the group. "We now know something at least. It seems Ai is Hope and Monokuma is Despair. Ai wants everyone to live. Monokuma wants everyone to die. Cheshire is neither. He's just a stickler for the rules. Technically, I wanted Nana dead. So, when Kris died, it was an accident, not murder. That's the only reason why Sanura and I are still alive after technically committing murder. As for what now that I'm back alive..." She stopped short. She looked everyone in the eye once before shooting back at the ground. "Maybe my father was right. I am immortal. Which means that I now hold a responsibility to my people. It's the only thought that even begins to make sense of all of this. I mean, what else can I do?" She let out a nervous laughter that seems to stagnate in the air for a brief second. "I have killed thirty-eight people as of tonight. I have committed a far worse crime to even more victims. And yes, there are things in this world that are worse than murder. But, Gods like me aren't always the perfect moral compass. But, I will now strive to be one. I'll strive to be a role model, not so little kids can look up at me and give me an ego boost I so desperately crave, no. I want to be a role model to prevent people from becoming like me. From becoming my mother. From becoming my father. From becoming people like Liam or Koneko or Nana, blood-thirsty for revenge against someone. I know that's entirely hypocritical given that I have caused them to be blood-thirsty for revenge, but the buck stops here. I...I want forgiveness!" She started tearing up as drops of salty water rolled down her face and onto the floor. For so long, she never even bothered to question her motivations. Yuichiro made her realize that maybe people should. "Please! I want to be a good girl now! I don't wanna be an evil meanie, anymore!" She started sobbing heavily now, vastly knowing that they fell on deaf ears, but she didn't care. She just wanted a second chance. | Redemption

Good Meals, Good Friends, Good Laughs, Good Murders, What more could anyone want?
"..." Nero could barely think of what had transpired. Every single law of life that he had come to know and love had been overturned. In a second, he saw Valentina go from right next to him, to a giant flower field in the sky... and he saw her die. That could've been acceptable, but then the next law was broken. She came back! Somehow, she was brought back since Cheshire decided Monokuma broke a rule... and finally, the last law he came to accept was Monokuma's unconditional rule, one that nobody could fight, nobody could disobey... yet Cheshire was able to freely rebel against him and succeed... He just didn't know what to think... but...
"Valentina... I'm glad that you didn't have to die." said Nero with a smile, looking the Aromatherapist in the eyes. He was conflicted, but at the end of the day, he was happy she was live. She indirectly killed both Rin and Kris... but they were just at the wrong place and at the wrong time. Besides, if her story was true about her family... it seems that all she needed was a friend. And if it prevented another accident from happening, then he'd gladly play the part of 'Friend' in this grand play of Life. After all, the tapes showed that the original survivors had a SHSL Serial Killer in Genocide Jack, yet she was able to help them. Perhaps, this was for the best.
"And Sanura, are you okay?" questioned Nero as he looked at the forlorn Sand Witch. It had been a rough 24 hours for her. She was chased and tried to fight back to get away, only to realize she indirectly killed someone on accident. Then, before she was set to die, she was suddenly declared innocent. If there was ever a time for compassion, now was the time. Nero the Conflicted Baker

How? How could she live? She took away the only person that I cared about like that, and she got to live. She ended the lives of 38 people. Shouldn't that qualify as enough? How much more is she going to take away from me before that stupid cat finally decides to do something?
That torch is the only thing I have left. The only bit of him left to be there for me. Monokuma's stupid jokes hurt. They remind me that I blew it. I don't care what I think anymore. I had one chance to tell him... and I wasted it. I'll never get that opportunity back.
"Kris... Why am I still here? Why are you gone, and I'm still here? What have I done to deserve life? You tried to s-save someone and paid the ultimate price for it. You've done m-more than I've promised to all my life, and you died for it. What sick universe is this? No one here would rather have me than Kris. Anybody watching this cruel horror show from the outside would have liked it better if I had died in your place."
No one wants "The Knight of Little Sydney" around anymore. I put on a false guise of confidence for them for so long, and now I've gone and revealed who I actually am. A lonely and broken teenager. Someone who can't follow-through with their promises. A complete disappointment to everyone who thought they knew him. Even to him. Ben, I know you can't hear this, and even if you could, it wouldn't matter anyways. I just want to say I'm sorry. I've let you down again.
"Forgiveness? You k-killed 38 people, including Kris. Nothing you do is going to bring him back. He's gone, all because of your delusion. I don't care how anyone else thinks of me anymore. I don't care if that makes me 'bloodthirsty for revenge.' I'm never going to forgive you for what you did."
Why does she have any reason to be forgiven? She killed one of us. There's no going back from that.
"Do y-you remember when we were talking at the beach? Right then, I was going to off myself. I was at the lowest point I thought I could be at. Then you came and started telling me off, and dropped me even lower. But I guess that wasn't enough for you, huh? You went and did something unforgivable. Do you enjoy watching me suffer like this? Do you really w-want m-me to do it? Do you want me to go and find the nearest bottle of pills I can f-find and swallow the whole thing?"
What is going on with me? Why do I keep opening my mouth? Just shut up, Liam! Stop doing this to yourself! Stop letting yourself be like this!
"I-I-... just, ignore me. I need to w-work through some things on my own."

[attr="class","life"]
THE WORLD'S ON HEROIN
AND THE WORLD KEEPS TURNING AT A TURTLE'S PACE
[attr="class","les"]For the past couple weeks, Mayumi didn't believe for one second that things couldn't have possibly gotten stranger after the weather manipulation, but here she saw a person resurrected from the dead. She was literally in the same space as a fucking zombie. At this point, Mayumi realized that anything goes here, yet she managed to stay coolheaded the moment she saw Valentina alive after her satisfying execution.
However bizarre this was, Valentina was seeking redemption after all that she did to Mayumi and her peers. The graphic designer noticed how more than half the Aspiring Ultimates refused to accept her as one of their own and treated her like shit, and rightfully so. Although Valentina was an awful person overall, Mayumi didn't want to put her down like the others did. Instead, she'd help this criminal improve in every aspect to the point where people will want to befriend her again.
She would help the girl who had a zeppelin-sized ego.
She would help the girl who was harsh to practically everyone.
She would help the girl who kicked others when they were at their worst.
She would help the girl who tried to stir heated arguments with Mayumi and called her such mediocre labels such as "expletive bloated machine" and "revolting slime."
She would help the girl who killed more than thirty people prior to the Killing Game.
She would help the girl… because she believed in her. If someone as vile and irredeemable as her was truly begging for forgiveness, then Mayumi would put her trust in her and help her any way she could. It was about time Mayumi would open up herself more to others, and show them her true self.
She stepped behind Valentina, who was bawling uncontrollably, and a large shadow casted on top of her. The aromatherapist turned around to see Mayumi, arms crossed and showcasing her ever-so-familiar annoyed expression, yet somehow it also looked caring at the same time.
"Hey… I know you feel like shit right now, and that the world you once knew is collapsing in front of your eyes, but just understand that I know you can change. Who gives a fuck about what all those dicks say? That's also the first step to achieving your redemption, ignoring the putdowns. I'm putting my trust and faith in you, even after all you've done. It's fine if you decline my advice or assistance, after all I'm just a fat bitch to you in the end. If you'd like me to help you some more, just know I'm always available."
Mayumi pat the crying zombie on the back and slowly walked away from her. If Mayumi wanted to change herself as much as she wanted Valentina to, then she'd have to make an effort to find some more friends. She already had Irene, maybe Valentina now, but since that things were getting serious she needed to see past people's flaws, no matter how hard it would be. She considered chatting with Nana, but she assumed that it would just result in a pathetic rant. Instead she would talk to Nero, the baker who seemed to be one of the few who had sense during the Seaside Trial, and was consoling Sanura.
She walked up to Nero, attempting to cheer up the soft magician, and tapped on his shoulder. "Hey, is there any way I can help?" | [attr="class","goodness"] ✎ 0000 words |

Good Meals, Good Friends, Good Laughs, Good Murders, What more could anyone want?
"Oh Mayumi! Hmm... Well, she's been through a lot. Let's try to comfort her that it wasn't her fault, and that finally she was free of the collar. But, I didn't know her that well, if you know anything about her, now's the time. We should also make sure that she's calm... Her anxiety must be through the roof!" whispered Nero to the intelligent Ultimate Graphic Artist. It was possible that if Sanura heard them, it could worsen it. What was needed right now was tact, if they wanted her to be happy.
"Sanura... It's okay... You didn't know! Anyone would've feared for the worse, don't blame yourself. You were scared, and that's reasonable. That collar would've given anyone unease." said Nero, giving Sanura a hug, trying to make her happy to the best of his ability. He knew the weight of that collar... so did Valentina, and so did Mayumi. Ironically... this string of fate connected them, but for now, he needed to make sure that she felt happy.
"And Valentina... have Hope. If you truly want to become a better person, then now is the perfect time to start! I believe in you!" further commented Nero with a sincere smile on his face, desperately trying to make it so that she could be happy with herself. The 38 people who have died... were so sad, but dwelling on them wouldn't do any good to anyone. The Dead stayed dead... with one exception apparently. And if Nero could help that exception become a better person, he couldn't be happier. However, there was one more person that Nero needed to help.
"Liam, I'm so so sorry! Truly you must have went through hell... I'm truly sorry for your loss. Please... don't give into Despair just yet. Live, if not for Kris but for me. You can't die!" said Nero with a desperation in his voice. If Koneko refused to help... he'd be in hell for the next few days, trying to stretch himself out to the three. But for now...
"Mayumi, can you handle Sanura?" whispered Nero as he let go of Sanura, before going over to Liam, giving the poor knight a hug. Truly, he couldn't catch a break, but for now, he needed a friend. Nero the Supportive Baker

“From becoming people like Liam or Koneko or Nana, bloodthirsty for revenge against someone.”
Well, how about that. Our little serial killer over here just wants to be forgiven, and who are you to judge her? Nevermind the fact that she just admitted to killing almost forty people including one-to-two (depending on your view of things) of their fellow friends and competitors who were no longer here because of her actions. But no, let’s hold her hand and coddle her, that makes sense. It took everything she had to bite her tongue when Val tried to paint her as being in the wrong because surely the others weren’t stupid enough to fall for it, right?
“"Hey… I know you feel like shit right now, and that the world you once knew is collapsing in front of your eyes, but just understand that I know you can change. Who gives a fuck about what all those dicks say? “
“Are you all serious right now?” Maybe she was a little bias at the moment because you know, Valentina did just try and MURDER HER but Nana was having a bit of a hard time getting her mind around this whole “lets all hug and coddle the serial killer” the others seemed to be okay with. Gritting her teeth to try and keep from saying something worse and simply crosses her arms across her chest as she glares at the murderer. “Yes, by all means, let’s all coddle and forgive the serial killer. By all means, she’s only admitted to killing forty people because she’s a stupid selfish bitch, that’s nothing at all! Hell, I bet Kris was totally fine with her killing him.”
This was all sarcasm, which she thought would have been clear but apparently, things had to be spelled out for these kids or they’d never get it. DOES THE DOOR SAY RUN OR REN?
“I’m so glad you’re all so forgiving of having your fellow friends and contestants killed. Hey, why not just give Valentina a knife and let her sleep in your room! After all, mistakes can happen to anybody, and they’ve happened forty-one times in the span of Valentina’s life.”

Brunhild looked at the Valentina from a distance, her glance can even be described to be filled with disgust and hatred towards her. Brunhild couldn't believe that someone as she was resurrected from the dead. Now she is pleading that she will be innocent, huh!? Not only she killed those two, but also multiple other people. There is a limit for her insolence. Not only that, but she somehow survived her execution. Resurrected from the dead by that bear. Wait, is something like that even possible? I mean it is possible to be clinically dead for some time, but it seems like her resurrection was different from it. As she continued her inner monologue she looked thoroughly over her body. She is totally a person to keep an eye on. And look at those people who are trying to protect her, are they out of their minds? Defending someone like her.
Looking at the Nero and Mayumi. "You should just give up, people like her will backstab you after getting a second chance. She doesn't deserve your attention." as she said that Brunhild turned her head towards Valentina: "And just by saying that you really think I will believe you? People can't change just like that. Can you say any of those words to any of those to people whose lives you ruined? You don't deserve to resurrected." Brunhild sat down, looking at them. The only good thing about this situation was that a weather and animal situation was resolved, though if anything, it was probably the calm before an approaching storm.

THE WORLD'S ON HEROIN
AND THE WORLD KEEPS TURNING AT A TURTLE'S PACE
[attr="class","les"]"I'll try the best I can," she told Nero as he left.
Sanura was the other unfortunate person who was collared with Mayumi, was almost executed for being the other blackened, and never even got a chance to demonstrate her sand magic on the beach of all places. She was much more sensitive and frail than Mayumi, so this must've been too much for her to process. Then again, wasn't that the same for everyone?
Just as she was about to start comforting her, Nana spoke up from the mixed crowd and went on a pathetic excuse of a monologue. Her obviously sarcastic and poorly coordinated speech reminded Mayumi of her own outburst after the first trial. Unlike her expletive-filled rant however, Nana's sarcastic putdown was less blunt, assuming everyone in the Plaza was inferior to her in terms of intelligence and morality. Although Mayumi's outburst before was rude and inappropriate, at least what she was saying had a message conveyed that was supposed to encourage everyone to step up their game. Nana's rant on the other hand just addressed how Valentina didn't deserve forgiveness and everyone who did are literal human trash and don't deserve any respect.
Despite all the rage that boiled inside her, Mayumi kept her mouth shut regarding the triggered violinist. She had enough of arguments for the day after practically carrying the trial with Nero, and would rather not raise her voice for the first time since the Dinner Party Trial. And besides, her behavior was technically justified because she was Valentina's primary target, but Mayumi didn't give a shit anyway. Instead of one-upping the violinist, the one who deserved a reply was Brunhild. She wouldn't debate with her, but she'd put her two cents on the matter and make sure the girl understands her perspective. Mayumi sighed.
"I'm not doing this because I pity Valentina, nor do I intend to sugarcoat the reality of this fucking situation. I just want her to change for the better, nothing less. Punishing her for her actions even after her comeuppance won't solve anything. Although I don't 100% trust her yet, so what if she turns on me? Life is universally insignificant regardless of what any of us do, and I've already done my fair share."
That last sentence was a lie, but at least it would make her point more apparent.
"Now if you excuse me, I have another 'blackened' to mentor," she said 'blackened' with air quotes.
"Hey, Sanura. I don't think we had an actual conversation since this clusterfuck began. Although we don't know each other very well, we have something in common, and I'm pretty sure you know what it is," Mayumi cracked the spine in her neck with her hand to give a subtle visual hint if she didn't understand, but she knew Sanura was smart enough to know the context.
"What you did doesn't matter to me, it was all just self-defense. And in the end you technically weren't Rin's culprit, so that's something to celebrate. I can tell that things seem to be going fucking awful for you, but I want to help make your experience be less dreadful. I'm available whenever you'd like, I guess."
She pat Sanura on the back, just like she did with Valentina, and stayed with her for the time being, comforting her until Nero would return. | [="class","goodness"] ✎ 0000 words |

All the emotions she had felt during the time she was here were all clustering inside her. Happiness, sadness, even a little bit of angriness. But most of all, digust. Disgust towards the Aromatherapist, or more to say, towards Monokuma who apparently brought her back. How could he resurrect someone who killed more than a few dozen of people and for what reason?! This all had to be a mad joke to Sanura, she just couldn't wrap her head around all of this happening.
Yes, she felt digust, but of course she was crying as usual. This time more tears of happiness mixed with sadness. Nero and Mayumi had come over to her to try and comfort her, which seemed to surprisingly work.
"I'm o-okay.... hic thank you for trying to h-help me despite me b-being a....hic" The words couldn't come out of her mouth, not because of her sobbing and hiccing, but because it was the truth. But would you blame her? First being collared with a time bomb to her neck, then being chased and ultimately knocking someone out indirectly killing them....
"I'll keep that in mind Mayumi..." Sanura wanted to get up and walk around but ultimately her legs were too weak to stand after all that pressure... so she just decided to keep sitting in the sand for now.

"This is an affront to justice itself. She killed 38 people and yet after her execution, she still gets to live? That's... That's beyond me. Now she has the utter gall to beg for forgiveness? She nearly got my friend Sanura killed as well! That's not something I can easily forgive."
Dorothy was appalled at Cheshire's decision. Why didn't he (Cheshire was a he, right?) execute only Valentina while sparing Sanura? Only because she killed a different person than who she intended to kill? Something wasn't right, there. But again, it wasn't Dorothy's place to question the bear and his game. If she did, she'd probably be executed instead, which was precisely something she did not want.
The polyglot moved towards Valentina and shook her head. "No, I won't forgive you for what you've done, end of story. I may sound bloodthirsty at times, but at least I can safely say that I have never killed someone, much less 38 people, like you."
With these words, Dorothy moved away from Valentina to be a bit by herself. She was disgusted at Valentina's actions.
Believe it or not, Dorothy actually still had a conscience and knows right from wrong.
"She can thank her lucky stars my aunt's not participating in this killing game, or else she would've received swift and karmic retribution. Not that I'd want her to suffer Ren's fate though... Anyway, watching Valentina die was strangely cathartic. I wish I could've eaten some popcorn while it happened. I still can't help but wonder who'll be next, though, and what kinda backdrop we'll be getting, if it changes again."

► Yuichiro Yuuki 384 Nothing about Yuichiro is straight, not even his priorities! | They saw her die. They saw Valentina get executed in what seemed to be an extremely cruel and disrespectful death, even for a serial killer. And here she was, alive again. There was no explanation for it; none at all. It brought up a lot of uncomfortable thoughts in his mind. Were they.. In a simulation of some sort, like those remnants from back during the tragedy? If that were the case, could he be sure of anything in his life? Or could they be dead? Was this some sort of after life?
Too many questions. Too much anxiety. Instead of voicing it, he just bit his tongue. Voicing something like that at that time would be very, very stupid. Valentina was resurrected. Sanura fortunately, was saved from having to experience execution at all. In a way, this was as ideal a situation as they could hope for, provided they kept an eye on their resident serial killer.
"I'm glad you're okay, Sanura. You.. honestly didn't deserve any of this. I suppose that's one bright side to this awful trial." When he first read Kris' warning letter, saying he heard screaming and found Rin buried alive... Yuichiro was shaken. He had thought whoever the killer was, they must've been a despicable person that deserved death. But Sanura's circumstances were just unfortunate. She meant no true cruelty in her actions. As for the other girl... He narrowed his eyes at Valentina. "I hope you're not lying through your teeth again. We could keep you tied up if we needed to."
Damn it. Maybe it was simply due to the brutality of her execution, but Yuichi felt sympathy for the girl. He didn't want to show it though. In the case that she was being truthful, he was glad she was alive. He did believe in second chances. In case she was lying however... That posed a massive problem.
Slinging the purse over his shoulder, Yuichiro stepped away from the crowd. "I dunno 'bout you guys, but I'm having a bit of an existential crisis. So, if you excuse me. It'd be distasteful for you all to see such a cute guy stressing over nothin'." He was compensating. Was he even cute in reality? Or was that also a part of this possible afterlife simulation scenario? | |

Deceased, and yet, alive. Alive, yet recently deceased. Valentina had met her end, but stood before them. There was still much to learn about the world. Despite having brought many others to their ends, and having sacrificed her skill to do so, the walking contradiction was still there, wishing to improve. While the metaphorical gears were turning, they merely seemed to be spinning, accomplishing nothing. "No. No. No." Irene repeated, staring blankly in front of her. There was simply no explanation for what had occurred at the moment. To consider it further would bring one to madness.
She adjusted her lenses, then paused. This was the reality of their situation now, and it was not one that she knew how to proceed in. She would have to learn. "......" Adjusting her lenses again, Irene spoke up. "Miss Rossi. Miss Simons. Your behaviors have been unacceptable. However. Your skill remains. Improve your behaviors. Remain the best at your tasks. You have received opportunities. Do not let them go to waste."

This was an even grander farce than Orica had thought it was the whole time. The bear's trap was sprung and someone was punished for falling for it and yet they lived. More than that, they died and returned to the living. Was there ever a greater weakness than the refusal to accept one's death when it came because of their own weakness? There might be but the Princess Knight was having a hard time thinking of one. Valentina standing there was an affront to Orica's way of life, but to punish her for it would still be playing to the bear's hand. She would not kill that which should be dead, but that didn't stop her from making her opinion abundantly clear.
Pointing at her she said, ”Valentina Rossi. If you truly seek to redeem yourself of the actions you have taken, then kill yourself. If you are as immortal as you say you are, then you will be fine and that proves you truly are stronger than death, without any signs of that cat's oversight. Do it here, in front of everyone so that the bear cannot use your death as means to ensnare us in more of his game by having us run around to find the killer. If you refuse to do so then I will consider anyone that thinks you are worthy of redemption to be in greater danger of dying from their own weakness when you betray them and, if you survive this entire farce without proving you really are immune to death, I will challenge you to a fight to the death. Maybe even if you do. As I said when we arrived on this island that if there was an actual god to kill I would be up for the challenge and if you are indeed one then I must be true to my words.” Orica's words of course didn't account for the possibility of herself dying, but then again would she?

Koneko scowled at Valentina's pathetic display. "...'bloodthirsty'? That's rich, coming from you. You can argue Wilk's and Nakamura's deaths were accidental, but you admitted it yourself; you've killed a lot of people. I believe you are in no position to criticize me, and--" her expression darkened, "--don't think for a moment escaping death will be a blessing. You will live to suffer. I will make every moment of your life I can a living, waking nightmare."
With those last, ominous words, Koneko stalked off. you cant wake up - this is not a dream
