Name: Adrianna Kravenski
Age: 21
Appearance: Shutou Suzu - Akuma no Riddle
Height: 5 ft 6 inch
Weight: 94 lbs
Talent: SHSL Flower Maiden
Grade/Year: Year 4
Personality:
“You’re a loner. You keep your distance. You travel freely through foreign lands. You’re rootless. You’re very comfortable here with your glass of Scotch, but you’re just as comfortable sleeping in a cave with rebels, or sharing dinner in some hole-in-the-wall noodle shop. Your closest friends are strangers. You understand that tight bonds can make you vulnerable, so you’re careful not to have any.”
That quote above would be the experience that Adrianna yearns for the most. She would give up anything to travel the world with such a person, to be their partner as they etch their own little mark in this big, big world of undiscovered stories.
The immediate words that spring to mind when someone says the word flower aren't really what describes Adrianna best. From the outside, her eyes are all that reveal the whimsical callousness hidden within her heart and soul. While in the presence of something she finds an interest in, there's often times a notable shift in how she looks at whatever it happens to be. It's an almost indistinguishable change of tone, reminiscent of a peaceful stroll in the jungle suddenly becoming one haunted by invisible, stalking predators. More than once has a stranger's spine suddenly shiver, only for them to turn around to meet the gaze of a gentle-looking girl bearing a smile. Even though this soft-spoken stranger seems to carry an air of sophistication, and even though she starts pleasant conversations, they can't help but shake the uncanny feeling that something just isn't right.
To her, people are one of the most fascinating things in this world. She couldn't have asked for anything better than this game of life, for it simply brings out the most curious kind of stories. To think that everybody in this world had a living, evolving tale of their own, it's almost too great of a thought to bear. Books, while also deserving of her praise, can't bear a torch against the real thing.
If she could wish for one thing, it would be to experience all that there is in life before her time in this world is up. Conversing with strangers is just one of the many things she does to broaden her horizons. Other people's struggles, achievements and regrets, she'll readily accept it all. After all, the next best thing to experiencing things herself are firsthand accounts. If it means that she'll be able to sneak a peek, to be able to dip her toes just a little and shine light on the limitless possibilities in this drama of life, she'll be more than happy to sit in a cafe for hours on end while somebody pours their heart out on the table between them.
She's a playful girl, willing to mess around just for the heck of it. Then again, she won't hesitate (other than during drastic exceptions) to throw someone under the bus to save her own skin. Adrianna is moderately greedy, moderately selfish, prideful, confident and oh so deceitful. And while she tries to keep all of these vices hidden behind a kind facade, she'll concede to the fact that she doesn't have exactly the best control over her own emotions at times. Still, unless you dig deep into the viper's den, Adrianna simply appears as yet another friendly individual. And while chances are that she'll only reciprocate the bare minimum level of emotions needed to sustain an acquaintanceship, she does search for an interesting select few to truly call friends.
History: (Please excuse any ignorance about science that may or may not have happened.)
Born in a small country town, one of Adrianna's earliest memories were the beautiful plains and hills dotted by flowers of all sorts, shapes, sizes and colors. What started as a hobby sprouted into an obsession, with classes often being skipped in favor of collecting even more of those delicate beauties.
After a long period of incessant begging, she managed to get her father's permission for the construction of a backyard, glass greenhouse. The two of them, along with her younger brother, soon set to work making her early dreams come true. It became her own little sanctuary, a place of recluse where she refined the art of breeding flowers.
Over these years, Adrianna mixed and matched flowers and turned them into her own little creations. Eventually, she had enough of a variety and the experience to go with it that she opened up her own humble little stall to sell flowers. Playing her cards close to her chest, she didn't reveal her methods and secrets to anyone. Adrianna's business flourished, eventually prospering into one big attraction for her small town. Never-before seen flowers with a combinations of colors, a good variety of shapes and sizes to boast.
The saying goes that men dug too deeply and too greedily. In Adrianna's case, her obsession would too have dire consequences. She begun to experiment, a yearning desire to test the limits of what her talent could create. An increasing amount of time was being spent in her now-expanded greenhouse where she dabbled by adding poison to the mix. Vermin were used to test its potency, and how death collects its due turned into a great fascination.
It was one such creation that had brought Adrianna much fame, but it was for all the wrong reasons. She had a creation (suitably dubbed as the 'Kravenski flower') that dominated all other competition, engineered to spread like a plague. With a toxin that granted it immunity to insects and animals around her local region (as well as all the other range of improvements she bestowed upon it), a few misplaced seeds and a gust of wind was all that was needed for a fast acting, beautiful red disaster.
By the time she entered HPA, the countryside she called home was a sea of red. Despite desperate countermeasures, all other competition had died out. The Kravenski flower reigned supreme, and she couldn't be prouder of the beauty she had etched into the world, even at the cost of her own brother. When it was found out that he was the one who devised this vile plan, Adrianna felt heartbroken and betrayed.
But the beauty was worth it, in the end.
