The Tragedy Photo Stack - Several creased and dirty photos are wrapped tight with a rubber band. They depict war zones...craters, guns, knives, public burning and lynching...It’s enough to make you ill. Half the people wear tattered grey jumpsuits, while the rest wear dirty street clothes.

The Ultimate Despair - “ALICIA VAN RESENDAAL, 2012. “UNHAPPY BIRTHDAY, ULTIMATE DESPAIR”  ---The Tragedy began as a murmuring whisper that began at the Japan branch of Hope’s Peak Academy. It was there that two teenage Ultimates, the Fashionista and her sister, the Soldier, began to recruit fellow students into a small organization that they called Ultimate Despair. This group’s message is to spread suffering and misfortune, and embrace it as some sort of twisted core principle, one that they each believe in to their essence. It spread like a wildfire only they could see, and just when others began to take notice, it struck. The world was cast into chaos as Ultimates were slaughtered in masses, including the suicide of the entire Reserve Department. Whereabouts of the headmaster and some of the students is still unknown. To this day, Ultimate Despair wreaks havoc in the streets without rhyme or reason. Their ranks are made of up current Hope’s Peak students, alumni of the Academy, and average people disgruntled with the state of the country...”
