| HERE'S A LULLABY TO CLOSE TO YOUR EYES Your tears mean nothing to me In the air, the smell of crisp autumn leaves blows through the courtyard of Hope's Peak Academy. Flowers cling to life as the temperature drops, and students cling to life as their final days of summer drop. But not all students feel this way...
The students of Hope's Peak return with fresh hearts every year. Yes, this is a blessing—the best of the best are guarenteed an easy ride in life if they're accepted to the school. Millions clambor to showcase their talents, to be the very best, the king of the pile...and only hundreds are accepted. Whether you're a Janitor, a Hostess, a Prodigy, or just plain riddled with luck, you've cleared a spot for yourself there. And whether you've never been in this place before, or you've been here a million times, the aura of the building paralyzes you in place on the first day back. It fills you with hope. It fills you with determination.
But as the bells ring and chime, and fellow students filter past you, the gentle voice over the intercom spurs you into motion. As you walk through the doors, the mantra repeats over and over.
“Welcome to Hope's Peak, the birthplace of hope...Welcome to Hope's Peak, the pillar of morals...Welcome to Hope's Pea--”
The world melts away with the now distorting voice, and suddenly, you feel your legs give way.
-x-
Bubbling. Gentle bubbling trickles through the ears of the group of students by the fountain. It seems almost cult-like, in a way—they're all lined up against it, sitting upright and unresponsive. Soon, they will awaken. Quietly, in each of their heads, the mantra plays.
“Welcome to Monoworld, the most despairing place on Earth...”

Taro slowly came into consciousness. The last thing he remembers was standing outside the doors to the most Hopeful place on Earth, Hope's peak Academy, or so it was called. For some reason, he decided to come to the school. It's not like he didn't want to become automatically successful in life, but it was the simple fact that he was simply nervous about attending such a prestigious school. Unfortunately, he woke up not knowing where he was, but one thing was for certain: he was not at Hope's Peak. What had happen? School shooting? Bomb? Earthquake? It had to be something that knocked him out! Whatever it was, it was certainly something he didn't even see coming. He's been in enough accidents to know when was is coming. He could tell normal turbulence from bad turbulence on planes right before they crashed.
He stood up and walked towards the fountain. I need to see my reflection. He thought. He walked over as he normally would in any other situation. Whatever the accident was that caused his memory to white out, it certainly wasn't going on right now. He looked into the water and saw the reflection of his normal face. Other than his scar which he had forever, nothing new seemed to be there. No blood, no bruises and his clothes were not ruined in any way shape or form. This was weird. He looked around and saw others. All of them were around his age and one was wearing some colorful mess he assumed were his normal clothes.
Looking around, other than a bunch of strangers surrounding the fountain, nothing seemed to be particularly odd nor any signs of being disturbed. He decided to start waking others up by splashing some water on their faces. The faster someone can tell him what happened, the faster he can get out of there and go home. He had to go home and figure out what to do for school if Hope's Peak was, understandably, closed. But something told him, in the back of his mind, that it wasn't going to be that easy. It was going to be much more difficult and much more different that his regular run-of-the-mill accidents. No. This felt different. Though he wasn't sure how. He decided, for the time being, not to speak. He rather someone else decide to lead the group. The leader tends to get all the questions like "What are we going to do?" or just straight-up talk about there experience and vent to the leader. He did that twice before and wasn't too pleased with the constant questioning and venting. He decided to let some other poor sucker take that role. Unless, of course, they were being an idiot. He ain't going to let some egotistical nutjob decide what's "best" for the group when, in reality, they are just filling out some power fantasy. He had enough of those guys.

Hope's Peak Academy. A place where dreams come true. Where the most talented students from all over the
world are educated and guaranteed success.
It sounded like a fun place to attend school. Lots of interesting people with interesting talents and a setting that was just ripe with opportunities for entertainment and profit.Who knows he could make some friends there too.
Willow was standing right in front of the school, ready to enter and see what the greatest school on earth had to offer,
then he woke up standing near a fountain. Where the hell was he? Certainly not Hope's Peak.
It looked like he was in some strange park or something. What could have happened? Some sort of initiation or field trip? A test? Did he just celebrate way to hard?
That wasn't it, he didn't have a pounding headache, and why would he wake up standing in a park? No, it was fairly clear something different was going on. His first clue was the presence of 16 other students lined up against the fountain with him. This was really odd. It must be some sort of initiation or test then. The Trickster momentarily considered running a trick, opportunities this good don't come along often enough, but decided against it pretty fast. This situation was bizarre and potentially dangerous enough without him muddling it up.
Besides if Hope's Peak was behind their present situation there would be plenty of time for that later, when they were back at the academy.
If this situation wasn't so damn creepy Willow would think it was exciting. Stuff like this didn't happen everyday.
Another boy was walking around splashing water on some of the others faces. Willow was instantly glad he had the good fortune to wake up before that happened to him. He was going to have to ask this kid what he knew, he needed information before he could act or make any plans.
"Hello...my name is Willow. Do you know where we are?" He said, addressing the other boy.

Everybody in the world has heard of the school he standing in front of, Hope's Peak Academy. They say all who graduate from this school are guaranteed success in their lives. He couldn't believe he had gotten an invitation to the school a few months ago. Going to school here means he can further his career as a comedian. He took a step forward to begin his new life. As he walked forward, his vision began getting blurred and then...everything went black.
He woke up to some water hitting his face. As he awoke he saw a person splashing water on other people's faces. The guy who was doing so had a scar on his face. As Iocus stood up, he saw the others who were laying on the ground starting to do the same.
What happened? He could have sworn he was walking into the school just a few seconds ago. Looking around he saw confusion in the faces of the other people. They didn't seem to know why they were there either.
Then it hit him, this was all just an initiation! It makes sense for an unusual school to have an unusual initiation. It was a little weird how he didn't remember how he got there but that didn't matter to him.
He started laughing out loud at this idea.
This was great! It was an awesome way to start the year! He was looking forward to having a fun school year!

“Welcome to Monoworld, the most despairing place on Earth...” There was the cheers, followed by the footsteps. It wasn't unusual for the first day, but that bleating voice was queer. It didn't fit the bill, leaving a single thought in Saoirse's noggin. Where on God's green earth was she? The poor girl was standing there before the very edge of school, gawking at the renowned jewel like it was the ninth wonder of the world, but that voice didn't belong. Who- She felt the droplets kicking her face, twitching at the cold lick as she shook herself. "Bugger off!" the brunette barked, still bleary-eyed from her crummy awakening. Her mind was in shambles, feeling even the more stranger. Wasn't she trotting off into that wonderful school everyone kept chanting about - Hope's Peak Academy? If so, where was it? Just from peeping around from where she was slumped against, Saoirse saw no hide nor hair of the place. Instead, the girl was stuck right in the middle of some decorous yard, marked with a water fountain scratching into her back. Slow, but steadily the brunette rose, wiping the splash of water from her face with the sleeve of her sweater. Wherever this was, it wasn't anything like she saw before. It was almost beyond fiction. "I don't recall bein' on a night prowl. What's all this mess?" the Traceur asked, not knowing if she'd get an answer. Then again, she didn't asked anyone directly. The words sort of slipped out as she wandered a bit. She saw the bushes and how strange they appeared, taking a gander beyond it since she was as curious as any person would be. However, the young gal didn't need to take another step, seeing the raised gates just a bit yonder. "There be no way I was scuttered ta be planted here. Is some tart coddin' with us?" This was the most probable explanation, particularly after hearing some kid was laughing his cacks off. “I'm hungry.”Saoirse silently agreed with the voice. She was indeed famished, but she couldn't just sit down for a nice luncheon like everything is right and dandy. She wanted answers more sooner than later.

My day Started as any other day on those last years. I woke up around 6:30pm. I had a fast shower. I make breakfast for two. I put my tea or other beverage in a thermic cup, pack my bag and head to school. Same as usual.
Of course, there is a slight difference today from every other day.
The school i am attending is Hope Peak.
Hope Peak, as if you ever read a magazine or watch TV in some moment in your life, is the most prestigious school in the entire Japan, and at least one of the best around the world. Hope Peaks isn’t exactly a grooming school: the students are already the best when they arrive, because that is a school to the best and the best only. To attend, you just have to be a highs cool student, be the best in a subject, hope that no other student with your so called "Talent" is currently attending the school, and hope to be selected. I am for example, the best lawyer on High school, so they give the title "SHSL Lawyer".
I don’t want to brag, really, but it is a fact.
It say that any student who managed to be accepted in hope and to graduate there, will have a successful career. And as i stand in the front of those gates, i can see why everyone say that.
That is school is a beacon. A beacon of progress. A beacon of a bright future. A beacon of h-

--- Chapter 0 Prologue ---
It was the first time i really passed out. There was other time that was come close to that, but hopefully it never really happened until now. To be honest, my last thought when i was blacking out was "Well, that is embarrassing". To go dark on the first day in school... i hope i wasn’t the first.
Soon enough, i realized i was laying in a hard bed. "For such expensive school, some would thought they would have better hospital beds". It come down to me that i was neither in a hospital bed, and neither the only one to pass out. The bed i was laid wasn’t a bed at all, and the hospital wing wasn’t a hospital wing either. Instead, it was some sort of plaza, with a big fountain in the middle, and at least a dozen of students around, also sleeping.
Before i could even begin to swear properly, someone splash water in my face.
In shock, and mostly pissed, i managed to see a tall and handsome boy, with a scar across his face. He only asked me if i was awake, and moved on to splash someone else, as if splashing someone on the face was a totally normal thing to do. On my side, a blonde teenager with the worst tasty in fashion laughed like this was the best joke in the world.
Wet, confused, equally hungry and angry, I didn’t understand a thing on what was happening. And being a gigantic fool, I spilled the worst phrase a human begin could say in this kind of situation:
"This couldn’t get any worst"

... "So this is the place..." Looking up from the brochure, Alexia sighed, already missing her family. Japan was not what Alexia expected it to be. To be honest, she was expecting flashy colours, parades, cosplay... But instead she got dirty, busy streets with crowded train stations and a lack of direction. This school however, was absent of these factors. The roads were clean, students were chatting and flowers blossomed... Yet, despite this, Alexia could not shake off a sense of uneasiness, as if the whole world would end right in front of her and she did not know it yet. She shook it off, knowing that she is not used to travelling halfway across the world just to enroll at a prestigious school. Even going to school was a slightly new feat for her.
"Hope's peak... The beacon of Hope for society"
She mimicked what was said on the brouche, perhaps to calm her down just a bit. Alexia knew she was ready, this is what she was waiting for... So she took the step... The step that would change her life for good...
----------------
It was dark... Really dark... This is what is possibly what they call the end of the world...
"What?"
Alexia found herself facing a door... A wide, wooden door. A wide wooden door in front of her. Just there. In front of her.
"What is this....?"
Before she could open the door however, it burst open as water rushed through it. Straight at her. Then she woke.
"Motherfu---"
She sat up with a start, shaking as the water was so cold.
"What the hell was---"
Stopping she came to the sudden realisation. Where was she?

"Well, this is it, I suppose... Hope's Peak, here I come!"
Ignia stood before the gates of Hope's Peak Academy, the result of years of doing what she loved most, and sheer curiousity. With her head held up high, she walked right in. She was proud of being one of those elite few who managed to attend this school.
It all changed though, when suddenly her knees turned into jelly and she fell unconscious.
...
"Monoworld, the most despairing place on Earth."
...
Someone splashed water into her face, and saw several more people that were around her age. A few of them still were unconscious, though. She looked around.
"Hey, uh, this place doesn't look like HPA... Where are we? And what was that Monoworld thing?", she asked no one in particular.

This world was inhabited by people of various sorts. For those that are bold, there are some that are meek, or halfway in-between. It was this little 'something' that distinguishes folks from one another. Things that your mind jots down next to a person's name to remember them by. Now, these 'somethings' are as countless as stars in a clear night sky, though not every single one of them are something worth writing home about. Take for instance, people that splash cold water on strangers, and those who don't.
Caught in the mid-point between sleep and awakeness, brief snippets of conversation snaked themselves to her ears as she lazed in this transition. The tendrils of sleep were still holding her back, loosening their grip as the seconds ticked slowly by. It would have been a calm awakening, but sadly it seemed not meant to be. She found herself not stretching comfortably as she woke, but forcibly yanked awake by an icy splash.
The water ran down her face as she sat herself upright, one hand moving to smooth out her skirt. Dabbing at her face with a pocket handkerchief, a square sewn with checkered boxes of ruby and black, she hadn't yet noticed the unfamiliar scenery in front of her eyes. Her mind was preoccupied with what just happened, a childish sense of disapproval that soon lead to her pouting and giving off an audible complaint of "That's no way to treat a girl."
She turned her head away as she spoke, eyes slanting away from the awful perpetrator behind this water fiasco. Catching sight of the greenery beside her, she looked around to a most unfamiliar sight. There were orange pillars and iron gates, and a fountain close by that held a single swimming duck. And both the duck and the shrubs were fake! Adrianna was close enough to spot the duck's red mechanical eye, and familiar enough with nature to discern the shrub's disappointing truth.
There was also a ghastly sentence that lingered in the back of her mind, one that gave her unsettling chills.
“Welcome to Monoworld, the most despairing place on Earth...”
She quickly got up on her feet, no longer comfortable with the thought of sitting defenselessly on the ground. Just what in the world was going on? @taghere

The SHSL Mathematician, Shiro Suzuki stood before the enormous building that was Hopes Peak. Shiro didn't knew how he was supposed to feel, happy? Or was annoyed the right word to describe his own feelings. He didn't really saw a good reason why he should go to Hopes Peak. Shiro at first didn't even wanted to come here but for some reason he came and it annoyed him. Maybe because he was able to do even more with math? Or because they didn't wanted to leave him alone with their irritating offer? Thinking about possible reasons for his actions, made Shiro even more confused as he already was. So he decided to make his first step into Hopes Peak academy but immediately after that everything went dark. . . . . The feeling of liquid on his face made Shiro slowly opened his eyes. As he looked around with an unfazed expression he saw moving blocks around a fountain. Shiro soon recognized those walking blocks as people around his age or older. Some of them didn't moved so Shiro couldn't tell if they were sleeping or were already awake, he also couldn't tell if they were okay or not. Shiro was still sitting on the floor even if it was hard to tell he was annoyed and confused at the same time.

Daisuke arrived at Hope's Peak Academy, holding his luggage in his left hand and his longboard in his right. He was still surprised he got invited to Hope's Peak, but when he saw the letter he has to accept it. "I guess here I go..." He whispered to himself as he started walking towards the door. But darkness and dizziness were the first thing to welcome him to the academy as soon as he fell unconcious.
Daisuke woke up as soon as someone splashed water on his face. He got up and repositioned his helmet correctly. "W-Where am I?" He managed to stutter, nervous when being surrounded by a lot of people. "And w-what was that thing a-about despair...?"

nobody ever made you dig deeper Alexander wasn’t a big fan of places like Hope’s Peak, but he had decided to accept their invitation, seeing as they were willing to fund his work and he wouldn’t be restricted by a company’s interests. Everyone was just looking for a profit and a scientist like him was their way to massive profit. No. He wouldn’t be willing to cater to making anyone rich. People were greedy and stupid. They didn’t understand anything. Even though there were times Root wished that he was not so tuned into the sciences so he could fit in better. Not enough that he actually worked to fit in. That would be a waste of his gift.
When Root awoke, he stayed on the ground for a moment, as he allowed himself to study the area without his eyes, as his other senses were heightened. He heard the voices of several others, they were outside. Water. He could hear water, there was something in the water, a subtle little sound. And the smell of plants. Alright. He could deal with this. Something was wrong, obviously, or he wouldn’t be here. He’d be at Hope’s Peak. He was probably in some experiment the idiots were putting together, see how they reacted in a situation like this. He wasn’t going to freak out. He wasn’t going to give them that satisfaction.
Monoworld.
Root took out of his notebook and wrote the word out. That’s where they were. "This couldn’t get any worse.” Root chuckled under his breath. So many were freaking out. They were all idiots it seemed. Great. They just had to trap him with a bunch of idiots. Because that was what was going to annoy him the most. Idiots. The lot of them.
“Of course it could. I could be dead,” Root replied his eyes looking all around, as he scribbling in his notebook everything that would be important. “And then you all would be lost.” Not that he cared if people thought he was an arrogant person. Right now, they were all useless, and he was the only one of importance here. After all, he was close to discovering everything about the universe and even beyond it.
"W-Where am I? And w-what was that thing a-about despair...?"
Root bit back his answer for a second and glanced down at his notes, having forgotten what this place was called. Monoworld. Right. “Oh, no need to worry. We’re going to prance through a meadow together with some rainbows and unicorns,” Root replied sarcastically, “Then we’re all going to laugh and have a drink together.” Root rolled his eyes. “Maybe you should listen next time and stop asking stupid questions. You’re making us all lose IQ points just by being in your presence.”

Tamashi wakes up with a raging headache. Barely conscious, he recognizes he's in a place he has no idea about. So, as an analyzer, he takes a look around, and takes in the environment. After that, he tries to remember how he got there. The last thing he remembers is...being invited to Hopes Peak....Walking in the doors.....And everything seemed to melt from reality. Now he's here. And then he heard some lunatic yelling. "EXCUSE ME, SIR! I THINK THIS SCHOOL IS CALLED HOPE'S PEAK, NOT MONOWORLD! YOU MAY BE CONFUSED ABOUT THE NAME, MAYBE THEY DON'T GIVE YOU BREAKS, SO YOU'RE A BIT WOOZY, BUT I'LL HELP YOU GET BACK ON TRACK. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK AND KEEP WORKING TOWARDS THAT PAYDAY, MAN!" OWWW. "EXCUSE ME, SIR! I THINK THIS SCHOOL IS NOT HOPE'S PEAK ANYMORE! ALSO, I THINK YOU'RE WAY TOO FUCKING LOUD! CALM DOWN, IT'S NOT CHRISTMAS YET!"
It's gonna be one of those days....

Hopes Peak...The Home of the Worlds Hopes...Mamouros home for the next while...
He began to wonder to himself, why he was even bothering to turn up, but he already knew the answer: his parents. To set their minds at ease. To give them consolation that, if he failed in his aspirations, there would be a life of boring mediocrity at a desk job. That said, it was meant to cater to all aspects of growth, including physical. That means, even if the classes were nothing to write home about, the facilities would be.
With that consolation in his mind, he stepped forward, ready to half-ass his way through his last term of his school years, when he found himself on his knees, blacking out. "That's funny, I didn't expect to get a sucker punch on my first day..."
...
...
When he recovered, he found himself propped up against a fountain, with 16 others either standing up or still sleeping, and all with the same groggy face. For some reason, he couldn't help but feel this next year wouldn't be the half-assed snore fest he was expecting.
