森羅万象
all things are sacred.
The Dining Room isn’t separated from the Main Area by walls...rather, just a dark oak threshold cutting off the carpet. As you step into the room, try not to trip on it. The walls are the same, but they look much different due to the lighting. In lieu of the various silver globes in the Main Area and Living Room, the Dining Room has a single silver chandelier hanging over the large rectangular table. It’s freshly polished, four intertwined chains reaching from the ceiling and splitting into separate links that hold the circular chandelier upright and balanced. The circle has 20 candleholders on it, each one filled with a different color candle. Hey, you think you spot your favorite color on one! Each one is lit, but isn’t that kinda dangerous? The more daring of you may stand on a chair to reach up and touch the “fake” flame. Congrats, you just burned your fingers! It’s real. It’s probably not the safest, but who cares? But at the same time...you can’t seem to get any of the candles out, either. They’re stuck in the chandelier firmly.
The table is a slightly-lighter variation of the baseboard wood, with sturdy, curved legs carved by someone incredibly talented and incredibly obscure. There are various patterns lightly etched into the surface of the table, which is broken up by four huge panels of glass comprising the tabletop. Separating them into four is a cross-shaped section of wood in the middle of the table, its beams reaching out toward the edges of the table and meshing with the sides. The glass is frosted, so you can’t quite see through it. It has room for about 22 chairs...ten on each long side, and one at each head of the table. The chairs themselves are equally well-built and decorative, with plush, monochrome cushions embedded into the seat and back of each one.
There’s a door to the kitchen in the far left corner of the Dining Room, with a circular window peering into it.
