[attr="class","les"]"What a load of bull shit," she said to herself. "The studio can buy an entire manor but they can't get fucking grass?!"
Mayumi entered the backyard with thousands of thoughts coursing through her brain vessels. Why is the grass fake? Who would ever willingly play fucking croquet here? Why is the fence loaded with explosives? This entire area boggled her with its' loathsome design choices, but she did feel the need to take a break after exploring the Marvelous Manor. 'Marvelous' is certainly an overstatement.
Walking on the grass felt very odd. She theorized that the grass was made of some sort of plastic due to the faux texture of it. She took a stroll over to one of the nearby picnic tables to take a load off. As she sat, she could hear the seat audibly creak as her hefty body weighed it down. She sighed, knowing that these tables were meant for skinnier people to sit in.
As she pondered about the current situation at hand, she saw someone open the door to the porch; it was the green-haired boy from before, who still expressed his angered mood in his burning red eyes and his gritting teeth. Although she didn't appreciate his moodiness, she was still drawn to him. It was almost as if she saw a part of herself inside him. As he walked around aimlessly, she tried to get eye contact with him so he could come to her. He seemed like the kind of person that would cringe in response to a direct response. Eventually with a surprised look on his face, he took note of her existence. She stood up and walked up to him.

| "I have to agree, a pretty shitty place."
Gorou squinted his eyes, he wasn't particularly interested in the scenery at all even if his sharp eyes picked up on many details that just fed his distrust, with his hands buried in his pockets, the boy decided to wander around for a bit this was his new life now after all.
Letting out a heavy sigh, he took off his headphones turning towards the person he directed his words at, Mayumi.
"The fuck are you doing here?" Despite the clear rude word choice it lacked the usual aggression.

[attr="class","les"]She was surprised he even responded at all. Not exactly what she was hoping, but it was certainly a start. She could also tell that what he said wasn't meant to be a deliberate insult. The way he talked definitely reminded her of herself, and she wondered if he could be the one to change her view on the world… and she didn't even know his name yet. Then again, she was getting her hopes up too quickly, so she just responded with a sarcastic quip.
"What everyone else here is doing, smartass: adjusting. You definitely aren't adjusted, from what I've seen. Tch, that makes the two of us…"

| An ally? Raising his brows for a split second as this was certainly a surprise to him, he gave the backyard another look. Escape wasn't an option anymore causing him to grumble in clear annoyance well at least there was another person who shared one thing with him.

[attr="class","les"]As much as she enjoyed hanging out with this mysterious boy at the moment, there was one thing she despised about him: the way he acts like he's better than everyone else, and most likely herself included. She saw potential in him and still wanted to get to know him more, so she brought this issue into light.
"A superiority complex won't get you anywhere, you know? Though I do get where you're coming from. This place is filled with assholes, narcissists, giglets, self-loathing hypocrites, officious doormats, manipulative bastards, and downers like me."
She also heard him mention writing, which came a surprise for her. Unbeknownst to her this was part of his talent. Regardless she decided to shift the conversation to said topic.
"But let's not focus on the negatives for now, that certainly isn't healthy for a wanker like you. Trust me, I know from experience. So you're a writer? You never told me your talent… or name for the matter, so is it related to writing? I myself am not much a writer, though reading can be entertaining. | Gorou couldn't help but scoff at the response given to him. It was a first for him, that someone would see his behavior like that
"Superiority complex my ass. I just don't see a god damn reason why I should talk to any of them."
The conversation interested him for once, despite the rather funny accusations thrown at him he seemed to enjoy himself. The boy's laziness eventually forced him to sit down turning the story his headphones were playing off.
"What you see is confidence, plain and simple. You need that or else those fucks, stupid sunshines, self-loathing little shits, mirror kissing bastards and prejudiced little bitches will eat you up alive."
Considering his own words for a second, he let out a sigh. So those were the people he would have to spend time with. How lucky. It was his life now and there was no way he could escape.
"Well if you list them off like that then being better than some of them isn't all that hard." |

Not to mention, he was dodging every friendly offer she gave him. It would take eons for this guy to redeem himself. Her friendly attitude segued into straight up cynicism.
"And I suppose you think you're better than me as well, right? I personally think we're equals because every human being is a fucked up degenerate in their own unique way. It's like a neverending museum of letdowns and dismay. I have the lowest expectations for everyone, myself included, and yet I'm still disappointed."
She let out a sigh and adjusted the headphones around her neck, as her calm outburst took a lot out of her, but she raised her head to give him advice he'll most likely never carry out.

| "Who said I did?" Raising a brow, he continued to smile as he listened to her outburst with pure curiosity.
"So far you're more fun than the others if I really though I'm better than you I wouldn't fucking listen to one word you're saying and get the hell outta here."
The boy shrugged a little, adjusting his glasses in a rather calm manner. Weirdly enough this didn't really seem to get him in a negative light. It was the clear opposite, he was more intrigued.
"'I'm a little shit' is that what you want to hear from me or what? Well, you're not wrong. Anyway, hubris idiotic pride you can't back up, which leads to the main hero fucking himself over eventually...or something like that. I don't really care, I do get what you're preaching thought."
The whole conversation did make him question one thing, however.
"Fuck, why are you even here? Is this place filled with people you don't want to adjust to? I have my reasons too, so..."

Sure it was half-assed and lazily put together, but at least it was better than nothing. Plus, mentioning that she overheard a story narration through his headphones for the first half of the interaction would screw up everything.
"Tch, if I made you say that, then I'd be a fucking scumbag, which I did, and am, and I apologize for that. Look, forcing you to change isn't right, that's a given. The optional outcome I'd rather have is for you to do it on your own, however which way you want that to do that.
