[attr="class","box2"] Caelie sat on the sofa facing a blank flatscreen, her legs crossed and a mug of coffee in her hands. She took a quick stop by the kitchen prior to arriving here, and it was there that she stumbled across a most wonderful discovery. There was alcohol! Yes, sure, there was the whole 'drink responsibly' and all that, but she was never a girl who often turned down a good time. And besides, she could handle her liquor. Sadly though, this wasn’t coffee mixed with bourbon or anything. It wasn’t time for that, not yet. What it was time for was a brief respite to rest her feet, having already made a good round through the first floor of the manor.
Choosing to relax in the living room, Caelie sipped her drink before resting it on the table in front. Picking up a magazine – one that had to do with tech – she flicked through it, though her mind really was elsewhere. Visualizing the layout of the manor as best she could without taking out her notebook, Caelie pondered about what laid beyond multiple locked doors. Not only that, but she also questioned the whereabouts of their hosts. Surely it was about time for something to happen? You would expect there to be an orientation session or something, and even if they had chosen for the contestants to do so themselves, the agenda couldn’t have just been sorted as ‘free time’ for the rest of today?
This really wasn’t the professionalism that she’d come to expect, but alas, at least the manor was comfortable enough to pass time in. While the same probably couldn’t be said for some of the other contestants, this was the most luxurious abode Caelie had the pleasure of spending time in. The things able to be accomplished with money… chalk this up as yet another reason why a life of decadence was one that this girl sought. Now, she’d expected herself to love living in such a place all along, but actually getting the chance to step foot in something that used to be but a fantasy? If the deal wasn’t sealed before, it sure as hell was now.

Brunhild entered the living room with a mixed expression on her face. The beauty of this mansion truly fascinated her however, she still could not find her room. She became a little annoyed about that fact and when she came across the living room she decided to relax for a moment to ease her nerves. She decided to lay down on the couches that were placed nearby. She laid down closed her eye and started wondered what is going to happen in the future, what sort of tasks are they going to do and how will they judge them. Brunhild counted up to nine with her fingers and started wondering who is probably going to make it to the end not counting herself as if she already knew that she is already going to be graduated. However, all her fingers were still kept at nine, even after thirty minutes have passed.
Eventually, Brunhild became tired of thinking way ahead to the future. She opened her eye and noticed some magazines laying on the table near her, she took the first magazine she could reach and started reading it, but she dropped it almost the second she looked at it. Brunhild sat down and looked at the magazines in hopes of finding an interesting one, but it was no use to her she already read them all. Disappointed Brunhild looked around in hopes of finding something interesting. She noted some people around her were talking with each other, except a person who was drinking coffee and reading magazine to her right. Strangely for herself, she did not talk to anyone but only tried to explore the mansion. This was a perfect moment to talk to somebody.
She got up and sat near Caelie. With a smiling expression on her face, she leaned towards her as if she wanted to see what she is reading. However, Brunhild noticed that Caelie was a bit dazed off and decided to get her attention by softly poking her cheek with a finger. “Hi, I am Brunhild. You are Caelie, right?” happily asked Brunhild as she poked Caelie’s cheek.

[attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"] ❝ A swift, sudden shift of deep blue eyes indicated that Shiro had indeed been scanning the area. Whilst her attention seemed to be focused on her surroundings, but notably nothing in particular, she seemed to be jotting down notes upon her notebook, even if she wasn't looking at it. Rather, she seemed to be staring into oblivion, in a sense. Ever so often, however, her gaze would lock onto something of interest as she'd take down more notes, wisps of her long gray hair occasionally getting caught underneath the pen. After a moment, she seemed to stop writing as a breath was emitting. She swung her arms out and twirled around a bit within the luxurious mansion, eventually making her way into the living room. It was true that she too felt fortunate to be in a place like this; it had never necessarily been what she'd wished for, but a dream certainly come true now that it surfaced as reality, yes. A small smile played on her lips as she took in this all- it was much alike a fantasy of sorts. But then again, she wasn't exactly surprised to be within it. After awhile, she noted Caelie and Brynhild. Her smile contorted instantly into a straight, set line as she slowly approached them. As she did, her attention shifted back to her notebook, her hand moving absently as to write things down. Her brows furrowed slightly as she shut her eyes momentarily, tapping the pencil against the page for a moment in deep thought. It seemed she was in a trance-like state, and soon enough, she stepped out of this state in an abrupt manner, scribbling down something and flashing a thumbs up. Her whole body seemed to ease much alike he calm demeanor, and she gave a sheepish smile towards the two. "Hi! I... forget what I was going to say!"
Funnily enough, she said this with almost mock enthusiasm, apart from the fact that... well, it was real. She sounded like an excitable saleswoman pitching a deal to another, which was only strengthened by her cheesy hand gesture. Her grin eventually fell into a light smile as she stared at them, blinking, seemingly awaiting a response of some sort. | [attr="class","white"] [attr="class","night"] [attr="class","burstmini"]@someone1 [attr="class","burstmini"]@someone2 [attr="class","burstmini"]000 words [attr="class","burstmini"]OOC TEXT - Mizo |

[attr="class","box2"] Caelie had noticed the girl with the eyepatch prior to sitting down, but seeing as how the girl was sleeping, Caelie decided to pay her no heed. Was it a mistake? A blunder? While it could be argued that getting caught up in her thoughts out in the open like this was an embarrassing thing to do, it was a tendency that… didn’t happen a lot, but which still did so enough to be a bad habit. Retreating and getting distracted by the mind was a habit that she’s picked up on after… certain experiences in the past, and shaking that habit away was harder than it really should be.
Because of that, seeing as how she was on a particularly invigorating train of thought, the sight of Brunhild getting up was simply left unacknowledged. What couldn’t be ignored though was how Brunhild then sat down next to her. That, and how the girl thought it best for first, personal introductions to be one that involved a childish poke of cheeks.
Why didn’t Caelie react the moment Brunhild sat down? She wanted to see how eyepatch would behave. There were times in the past when she used moments like this in her work – emphasizing how a character treated someone daydreaming – to reveal more about the kind of person they were, to provide further insight for the readers who really dug into how everybody was characterized. And so, even if the poking had felt a little… irksome, Caelie thought such petty feelings to be a worthwhile trade-off.
Showing visible surprise (though a keen eye might afford her reaction an inkling of doubt), Caelie turned towards Brunhild. “I didn’t see you there,” she said somewhat timidly, with eyes that darted between Brunhild’s, her knee, and only then did it settle back into one that’s appropriate for conversations – meeting the other person’s gaze. All through this, a small smile appeared. “I’m Caelie, yes,” she replied, after which she looked up towards a white-haired newcomer.
...Laughter was forcibly held back. What in the world was that? Such innocent enthusiasm towards nothing at all? A part of her had wondered it if it was a ploy – doubting was a key trait of hers – but really, Caelie was too busy trying to not let amusement show. It was almost endearing, what Shiro had just done.
“Hello to you too, Suzuki. Would you like a seat?” she asked, scooching over to the end of the sofa to make more room. Of course, she moved her mug over to her end of the table too.

Was Brunhild unsuccessful in "scaring" her? Or was it her imagination? Brunhild thought after seeing a Caelie's reaction. Well, anyway she succeeded in getting her attention. An author of one of the few fiction oriented books Brunhild actually enjoyed reading was sitting next to her. Brunhild took Caelie's hand and almost excitedly interrogated with her questions: "Nice to meet you, Caelie! I am so lucky that I met you here. I really like your books. Especially Blood on the 11th. But I am still wondering when will the third book release. Can you please tell me when are you going to publish it? In return, you can do anything to me, well in a good sense of course." Was it too much? Did she get too excited? "Hahaha... I am sorry I got a little excited." So excited that she did not notice Shiro standing near them until now. Brunhild turned her head towards a person who just spoke to them. It was a cute white haired girl a bit taller than Brunhild who greeted them both with a smile. Brunhild started inspecting her and thinking to herself: Her talent was an Internet Sleuth, right? Interesting talent. Will she be a good connection for me?" Brunhild shook her head ever so slight that it was almost unnoticeable "I am overthinking again." she sighed "Well, let's just be friendly and talk to her." - "Oh hey Shiro please sit with us." - Brunhild said with an innocent smile. Her sight focused on Shiro's notebook for a brief moment. Brunhild's eyes sparkled with excitement after she saw notebook as if she really wanted to see what is written inside. A notebook of a detective was something Brunhild had never read. Perhaps, I should ask if she would lend me it for a moment. "Hey Shiro, mind if I take a look inside that notebook of yours? In return, I will answer any two facts you may want to know about me."

[attr="class","burst"] [attr="class","whitenight"] ❝ The first thing that she'd note about these people in her head is that they seemed quite nice. With a swift, small nod towards the two, she sat down beside them, gaze sweeping over the room for a moment before landing back on them. Her eyes seemed to catch alight with a sparkle of intrigue as Brunhild talked about Caelie's books- surprisingly enough, these titles were ones she was familiar with. Nodding her head in turn to Brunhild's words, she felt the sensation to speak drift upon her, but she was quick to brush it away, more interested in what they had to say. She then opened up her notebook, noting things down seemingly whilst listening to them. It was then, however, that her eyebrows began to furrow slightly. At Brunhild's request, she could only look at her with a rather pointed, judging look for a moment. Silence hanging heavy over the room, she uttered not a word as her hand continued to move frantically along the page. After a moment, she chuckled lightly, and blinked her eyes closed in content. Surely a strange transition, and notably interesting one too. Offering a wide smile, she handed her notebook to the other girl, expression betraying it's former stern look. "Sure!"
She voiced this in a rather happy manner, not seeming to mind the idea of Caelie and Brunhild looking through her notebook in the slightest. However, her reasoning for this was quickly made apparent if one were to look upon the notebook. All of the text had been written in... morse code? If you decided to flip the pages, you'd see the same thing. Not to mention, this form of morse code seemed to be rather strange, twisted in a weird manner. | [attr="class","white"] [attr="class","night"] [attr="class","burstmini"]@someone1 [attr="class","burstmini"]@someone2 [attr="class","burstmini"]000 words [attr="class","burstmini"]OOC TEXT - Mizo |
