[attr="class","tgg"] [attr="class","TheGreatGatsby"] The AI standing before you did not let down her guard; arms up, she never removed her gaze from the scrap pile that was once Monokuma.

And yet, she hadn't moved. "My programming does not allow me to move, so someone...needs to bring that carcass here. I think I can fry any remaining hardware within him if I--"Your protector was cut off as a quiet whirring began to grow louder, and stronger."Logging unidentified noise. No, Monokuma had been reduced to a ball...one which was moving slowly toward under, through the legs of the table's chairs. It began to pick up speed, faster and faster, until...It collided with Ai as she reached down to grab it. Her form solidified a second before...and it was her last second. With a scream that glitched out into several cacophonous tones, her form flickered and stretched before she cast one final look at the group, and shattered into a million pieces. I AM NOT A BAD BEAR even though i do bad things VERY BAD THINGS such horrible things After a few moments of shocked silence, the ball rolled away from what was once Ai. A new image seemed to be building itself in holographic frame, bit by bit. Was Ai...regenerating?No; she didn't have paws for feet, did she? It seemed that...Monokuma was respawning, and in a new, fresh form. As the transformation continued, you could tell there was something different about him. His fur had smoothed out and gained a faint dull gleam to it, like cast metal. He appeared as rotund as ever, yet his limbs had a new sleek look to them, as if they curved perfectly. He looked...well, almost exactly like a cartoon character, or a video game boss.As his ears loaded, the perfectly still hologram began to move."Aaaaaah, it's like a nice trip to the Spa, except I killed the receptionist! No fees for me, thanks, 'cause I'm a bear! And before you say anything robophobic, even projection bears are still ursine in nature. So ha!" The bear turned its head up to cackle menacingly, and his voice was different too. It seemed he had regained his joy once more."Hmm...I downloaded my code into this machine, so let's see if I can..." With that, Monokuma started to approach Irene. "Aw, look at that! I can walk, it's a Christmas miracle! Throw the wheelchair in the bin! Upupupupu! I already have one up on that old Ai lady...I've already forgotten her super boring, despairingly unimaginative name! Oooops!"Finally, Monokuma struck a modelesque pose. "I feel faaaantastic!"

"This is..." Koneko tried to speak, but she was at a loss for words. 'Could that have been... Me?' She dismissed the grim thought almost immediately. Even so... The cold chill of fear and dread wouldn't leave her. It clung to her bones like ivy constricting an abandoned home, digging its roots into the hair-thin cracks between the bricks. Before, the bear had been a ratty mess of broken machinery, something that a stiff breeze could have pulled apart. However, now... It was ethereal and untouchable, a hologram.
A hologram that, if it truly had stolen administrative permissions from Ai, held infinite power over those trapped here. It seemed it could even bypass a few of the set limits Ai had been struggling with. Koneko staggered, trying to back away from the freshly reformed Monokuma, her large boots feeling heavy and clunky on her feet, or was it simply fear that was sapping her dexterity?
"Why... Why are you here? What do you want from us?" Koneko asked the question, but somehow she already knew the answer. That didn't mean she wanted to hear, it, though. No... She silently prayed that the next words out of it's holographic mouth had nothing to do with killing one another.
A logical voice in the back of her mind told her that was exactly what she was going to hear.

Good Meals, Good Friends, Good Laughs, Good Murders, What more could anyone want? It was certainly an interesting turn of events that led to the bear falling apart and being reborn. Personally, he didn't feel as much loss for the Ai, from just not knowing her for long enough as well as the fact that she was just a program. Even the fear of his own death was temporarily put to the side as one thing that he remembered. Something very important that everyone needed to be reminded of.
Do not provoke Monokuma
Despite Monokuma's direct role in the AI's death, giving into anger would only serve to help Monokuma. Either in the way of turning into despair... or just getting killed on the spot. Neither of which was preferable. Not only that, but in his new form, he could probably kill all of us extremely easily. Even in his old form, it wasn't out of the picture.
"Everyone, keep calm! Monokuma is holding the cards, so let him do as he wishes until he explains himself. Besides, we can't even harm him anymore even if we tried. He's just as much of a hologram as the AI." Nero quickly explained. No matter what happened, losing an AI isn't the worst thing in the world. A new one can be created, and there was likely a back up somewhere. However, getting a back up human was a little more difficult.
"If any of the previous killing games are an example, he won't step in unless we break any rules... right? Speaking of rules... Monokuma, even if we're waiting, can you give us some ground rules?" timidly asked Nero, as he kept an eye on the older shell of Monokuma. As long as they didn't do anything dumb, they should be fine... right?

"Do you use music to work? If so, Nana plays a lovely violin. Nana!"
Shit, of course somebody would notice her when she's trying to make a getaway, that was just her luck. although she wasn't about to correct Valentina on this, Nana didn't want to brag but she did indeed play one lovely violin. Having frozen in place when her name had been called out, Nana's eyes keep moving from one person to the next, still trying to piece together why so many people seemed to be this upset over a dumb toy that seemed to be breaking apart at the seams, only coming back to attention when her name is mentioned again.
"Nana! Come over here! Be a part of the Team of Helping Cuddly Bears Reach Their Mono-Licious Perfection!"
That...what? That was quite the team name she had to admit but it didn't really make anything clearer. Everyone else seemed to be wetting themselves over this bear though why was still unclear to her because he didn't seem all that dangerous at the moment. "...I beg your par-"
No time to finish that sentence, things were happening. The robot helper woman who had been doing whatever it is AIs do had been talking moments before suddenly disappears and in its...err, her place there was now the bear ball. A bear ball that was no longer a ball anyway, it was talking and walking and for some reason striking poses like it was a model heading down a runway.
Gross.
"...Why is it doing that. Make it stop doing that."
Between the puns and the...whatever it was doing now, this was quite the unpleasant experience so far.

THE WORLD'S ON HEROIN
AND THE WORLD KEEPS TURNING AT A TURTLE'S PACE
[attr="class","les"]The entire situation Mayumi was faced with was absolutely absurd. It seemed as though Ren and Valentina were short on a few brain cells and hugged Monokuma, and then he just broke apart as he was sprayed by the aromatherapist's perfume.
She muttered to herself, "tch, ignorance truly is bliss…" As everyone began to regain their energy and hope, Mayumi knew that something was going to go awry at any given moment. It was then Ai tried to size up the scene and forbid everyone from leaving. Looks like the Future Foundation really fucked up this time…
Although the moment was desperate and chaotic, Mayumi just did as she always did: lean against a wall far away from the commotion with her headphones on her head. Suddenly the scrap metal that was left of Monokuma transformed into a ball, rolled up to Ai, and petrified her. He petrified a fucking hologram, and then exploded into glass.
She knew how to use a computer from back to back; coding, dealing with viruses, even some hacking, so she knew that Ai didn't really die, only her holographic form dissipated. Her core was hidden somewhere in this manor, and if Monokuma were to get his paws on it then she'd truly be done for.
"Tch, don't fucking whine. Ai will be back soon enough, her core isn't damaged. She just has to retain her form and KABLAM, she'll be back."
As she was saying this, Monokuma's lifeless husk turned into a squeaky clean hologram, complete of any deteriorations it had before.
"For fuck's sake…" she whispered to herself.
"We get it; you're practically invincible, we can't escape and have to kill each other, you have a boner for despair. Just get to the damn point and tell us whatever you'll pull out of your holographic ass next…" | [attr="class","goodness"] ✉ @contestants ✎ 0000 words |

The scream was horrific. Another part of this awful manor I will never be able to forget. That scream was the last thing we ever heard from Ai. A few minutes ago, I told myself that I was going to protect everyone, and now Ai is gone. I didn't even make an attempt to save her, and because of that the bear might as well be untouchable.
"Wh-What did you to her? Why would you do something like that to someone who hasn't done anything wrong?"
Why even bother asking? He'll just say it was for the sake of despair, or something like that. Monokuma doesn't even care that he just ended a life, he can't even be bothered to remember her name. This bear is going to kill us all.
No, it's not the bear I have to worry about.
"I know the previous killing games had s-someone taking charge of it all. Who's controlling you, Monokuma? Who in this manor is e-evil enough to force us into this situation?"
Everybody in this manor is a suspect. Someone here wants to watch the rest of us kill each other, and there's no way to figure out who. Of course, we also have to worry about who's going to kill someone else first. I don't want to believe anyone here is capable of murder, but to deny it would be foolish. I'm sure everyone else here is thinking the exact same thing. We just have to be strong for now.

I AM NOT A BAD BEAR even though i do bad things VERY BAD THINGS such horrible things It seemed that Monokuma briefly stopped posing to yell at the Violinist."Listen up, honey! 'If they're not paying your bills, pay them no mind!' A wise man once said that, y'know...or was it a woman?" He seemed pleased with that reference, whatever it was. But would he stop? Apparently not; with a dramatic twirl, he flung himself on top of the table. And...he started staring at his old body. Staring. And staring. More staring, until:"Oh man, oh woman, oh non-binary folk--I almost forgot I brought presents! If you think about it, I'm all the same colors as Santa, too. Black, white, and red all over! And soon, that'll be you guys! But I tigress--er, digress."He paused a moment, but ultimately hopped back off the table, and began to dig under the fur of the old Monokuma. It seemed to take him a good amount of time and effort; Ai wasn't lying about the difficulty of materializing her form. ...Poor Ai.That unsettling display lasted a couple of minutes, before he spun around, proudly displaying 21 phones...and then unceremoniously dropping them."Crap!" He tried to scoop them up, but seemed to fail...or rather, he did fail. Miserably. "Ah well. Look through that pile, kids! Be sure to find the one who your name on it~! Oh, and I mean...your real name. Puhuhu, huhuhu..." He chuckled quietly to himself, gesturing to the phones. "These are your ElectroIDs! They contain the rules you so desperately begged for...I know, I know! Kids need structure in their lives! Well, I'm willing to be your father figure. I'm a proud papa bear myself..." He raised a paw to his mouth, tilting his head. It would be cute if he wasn't...well, Monokuma. "Er, was. I went out for cigarettes, got abducted by aliens, you know, the whole bit, and I haven't seen them since. Hmmm..." Monokuma seemed to wilt a bit."Oh--hm." There was one phone he was staring at. In a second, he snatched it up, and flung it onto the table violently. "Don't say I never did anything for you! I couldn't just erase her data, and I didn't want her defiling my chiseled bod, so I...well, gave her a new outlook on life." Did he mean...?« tag: @all // notes: welcome to hell! welcome to hell! welcome to-- »

Koneko stared on in mute horror, completely silent and still, staring wide eyed at Monokuma's antics. No longer did the idea of this being a set up or a prank seem realistic, so she was left with little to do than face the reality that this was all horribly real.
However, she was quickly snapped out of her stupor upon hearing Monokuma say one, damning phrase. 'My real name.' That realization is all it took before she dove down, sifting through the pile to quickly secure her own ID before anyone else could grab it. She tossed the others aside carelessly, moving with visible panic behind her movements. Eventually, she found it within the pile, but not before scattering several others in all different directions. Realizing her mistake, she quickly stood up, dipping her head ashamedly to the other students. "Ah! S-Sorry for making a mess! I-I suppose I'm just a bit panicked..."
With that, she quickly hurried away from the group, hiding in the corner and checking out the phone-like device, curiously poking through it's various functions. She quickly found herself hitting a wall, not finding anything interesting about the device to distract her from the terrifying situation she was in. She bit her lip, almost hard enough to draw blood, dreading the next time the bear opened it's mouth.

[attr=class, mbox] Valentina slowly watched as everything unfolded. "Wait..." she slowly stammered, "Are you, uh, still huggable?" She quickly turned to Ren. "Don't worry Ren, I'll make sure you can still hug it for all you want! Hugs are special. Hugs make the world go round!" She reached down and picked up her Electronic Identification and started pushing buttons on it. While she was doing so, she was smiling and giggling like a child, until she stopped, and slowly looked up at the bear. "Are you the Monokuma?" She quickly darted her eyes to everyone else. "OMG, this is a killing game, isn't it?" She took a few steps back, digging her heel into the ElectroID of Brunhild while she was at it. Eventually, she started laughing incredibly nervously. "Oh Monokuma! I am, er, we are so excited for your return, right guys?" She turned behind her and started nodding, trying to get others to do likewise. She jumped up on the table and continued her speech. "Surprise Monokuma! We are all despairs. And we do despairing things all the time! You see that blonde girl over there? Her name is Nana and, despite being a violinist, plays drums at three in the morning. That's against CITY ORDINANCE! Such evilness stems from her! And that guy over there! The stunt driver! He double parks! All the time. He doesn't even pay the fines, that monster! I myself am one to fancy loitering. I loiter in front of schools! Loiter in front of schools all the time. I have don't even worse things that'll make people fear me! Because I am an evil woman! Yes I am. Totally the case. And see that goggled girl? She...uhhh...." Running out of things to say, she mutters 'Think Valentina!' to herself over and over, visibly racking her brain until she, unconvincingly stated "Eats gum off the floor? It's not really evil, just more unsanitary than anything else. Point is, that we're all very Despair. Whoot! Despair! So...We shouldn't kill each other here! We should go out onto the world. Committing more despairs! Who's with me?" She began clapping and trying to start a DES-PAIR chant with the other competitors.

Good Meals, Good Friends, Good Laughs, Good Murders, What more could anyone want? Valentina's despair chant certainly lightened the mood, even if it was only momentarily. Besides, as pointless as it sounded, if they could convince Monokuma that they already were Despairs, there was the ever so slight minuscule tiny chance that they could convince him to leave.
"Y-Yeah, DES! PEAR! I sometimes switch out sugar and salt for my customers if they're especially snooty. Ruins their health. They wouldn't know sweet if it hit them in the head and flew into their mouths!" said Nero with a forced smile, motioning to the others. While the first part of it was a lie, he really couldn't outright deny the second. Those rich punks come in and act like they know everything, and just take one bite and throw it out. They outta- Calm down Nero, now's not the time. Neither was last time, but still. With one last look, he tried his best to gesture to the others to follow on. No matter how unlikely, it probably couldn't hurt. Probably.
"So anyways, Monokuma, I think you got the wrong place. I think the place where they're hosting the Ultimate show is down the street. We're the Remnants of Despair show." said Nero as he bent over to grab the ElectroID. If it had the rules, he better learn them and learn them well. It wouldn't do to break the rules and get killed. |
[attr="class","box2"] There’s been… so much that had happened. Caelie was there from the beginning, though her presence was kept low. Sidelines, without a peep. It often worked. She watched as… Monokuma appeared. Noted how everyone else reacted – some in fear, some in futile valiancy – all while she herself hovered around the various groups around the room. A part of her wanted to chalk this up as simply a producer’s stunt. After all, what better way to make a mockery of despair than have the new students beat ‘Monokuma’ up in a reality TV program?
Whether or not that was the case remained to be seen. Meanwhile, the varying reactions that the people around her afforded the bear were very worthwhile tidbits of knowledge. If everything were true, and that they were going to be forced into a killing game – bearing in mind the survival count of ones that had happened in the past – Caelie needed a better grasp of just who were the people she was dealing with. But at the same time, she couldn’t seem too suspicious while doing so. To silently stand alone in observation? The stakes of distrust would be stabbed into her back before she could even begin to argue otherwise. To that end, she made her way towards Yuichiro. Standing beside him, she tugged at the back of his shirt. Briefly, she tried to meet his eyes. If their gaze were to come true, Yuichiro would see reflected in Caelie’s a degree of sadness and solemnity. And again, if anyone was more perceptive, inklings of doubt could be sprinkled upon the sight of this particular expression.
Relatively speaking, she wasn’t as worried as some others had looked to be. If anything, Caelie was more… upset. If all of this were the truth – and her mind went back towards that damnable gate surrounding this place – that would mean they were… going to be prisoners here. Locked and subjected to the whims and fancies of those around her, as well as that retarded-looking bear. Even if there were grand hallways, amenities and luxurious rooms, those were tokens of comfort at best in the face of such a situation.
What’s worse was how everything increasingly hinted to that being the case. Between the threat of a motive, what happened to the audience (something that dark simply wouldn’t be an appropriate joke) and eventually the… murder? The downgrade of Ai's holographic body into a phone – now that was a pity - this really looked to be Caelie’s new reality. And to call it horrible would be doing understatements a disservice.
Speaking of phones… seeing as how two others had gotten theirs already, Caelie thought it to be about the right time to retrieve her own. She tried not to make too big a show of it – in and out, eyes on the ground. Problem was, the time spent looking for hers out of the mess that was everybody else’s felt a little too long for comfort. Eventually though, she walked away with it clutched tight.

When I heard Monokuma was gifting us something, I wasn't expecting "ElectroIDs" or whatever they were called. I also wasn't expecting him to drop all of them onto the floor, and by the looks of it, neither was he.
"Why are you g-giving us these? This seems suspiciously charitable of you. There's gotta be a catch, r-right?"
I have a hard time believing Monokuma would do anything to benefit us at all, but I guess it can't hurt to find my ID. Koneko seems to be in a rush to find hers. She ended up tossing some of ours just to find it. I guess some people can't live without their tech. Seeing as how I don't see my name in the pile, my ID was probably thrown by Koneko. I'm guessing mine is the one over there?
"Oh good, this is mine. I've never had a phone before. Guess I better ch-check out the rules."
So I guess we'll still be doing challenges then. Here's hoping they're nothing more than a simple puzzle. I'd hate to see what Monokuma could come up with. It also looks like some of the rooms have hidden puzzles too.
"So, what would we be looking for when we're searching for these hidden puzzles? It'd be a shame if no one were to find any."
Out of the corner of his eye, Liam spotted the ID Monokuma had viciously thrown onto the table.
Is that... Ai? Did she really survive? At least that means I don't have to worry about-
Suddenly Liam had drawn his sword, and pointed it at Valentina.
"Did you actually just try to admit to being part of Ultimate Despair? You better be joking, or so help me God, I will put an end to each and everyone of you who affiliates with them."
After saying that, he returned his sword to his side, and walked off to a corner of the room.

Good Meals, Good Friends, Good Laughs, Good Murders, What more could anyone want? As Nero picked up his Electronic ID, he could help but notice the phone that Monokuma had thrown. In all likelyhood, it was Ai's phone. It really felt bad to see Ai reduced to such a state. He kind of sympathized with her. She tried to save everyone and got crippled to such a sorry state.
Well, someone better take her before Monokuma changes his mind and decides to destroy her once and for all. Besides, it'll be useful to have her alongside us. I might even make a new friend!
And with that, Nero quietly took the Ai's phone and put it into his pocket. Even without a full body, she deserved to be protected at the very least.
After taking a moment to look around, he could see that tensions were boiling a little. Liam was pissed, and clearly not seeing that the 'Despair' thing was an act, so it might help to go over and talk to him. But on the other hand, he might meet the business end of the knight's sword. He'll have to talk to him after Monokuma is finished talking.

Apollo was shaking. He was shaking like never before. This whole thing was just ludicrous, terrifying, and absolutely insane. They were all trapped in the manor together, forced to kill each other, and all to satisfy some despair-filled psychopath's death fetish. And just when Apollo thought he was beginning to make friends with every single one of the other contestants. Oh, no. He just couldn't do this. He could never kill anyone. Especially not Yuichi.
However, before Apollo could be even more terrified, something amazing and unexpected had happened. Ai had apparently managed to take down the despair-mongering bear. Apollo smiled in relief before wiping away any potential tears. Of course, there were a few other problems, but he didn't care about those. "Oh, thank you, Ai. Thank you so much. You've saved us all!" He said, smiling. He then shook his head. "Look, it's not all that bad! If the Future Foundation cannot contact us, then we'll just have to focus on escaping from the manor. Then, this whole mess will be just one bizarre yet oddly funny memory--"
However, it didn't seem like the whole thing would just be a funny memory, apparently. Because Apollo was immediately interrupted by the sound of whirring. Then, in that instant, the remains of what was once Monokuma curled up into a ball and quite literally spindashed its way toward Ai. And as quickly as Ai was standing there, she was instantly shattered by the Mono-ball. Apollo stared at Ai's fading holographic remains in pure horror.
He almost couldn't believe it, but he couldn't deny it either. Ai was gone.
After the remains faded away, Apollo covered his head and screamed in horror. "Ai! No!" He yelled, clutching his head. He knew that Monokuma wouldn't be just playing around, but destroying Ai only served to hammer that fact straight into Apollo's skull. The way Ai was killed was just nothing short of cruel, either. Of course, he had only expected Monokuma to reincarnate himself as a holographic AI, taking the place of the helpful virtual girl that was once there. Apollo blinked in disbelief as Monokuma spoke once more, then handed out several strange devices.
Apollo started shaking again as he hesitantly took the ElectroID, then started examining it. "I won't believe this. I won't believe this. I won't believe this." Apollo said to himself, like a mantra. "I refuse to believe."
