[attr="class","box2"] TIt might have been questionable, lounging in the very room where Monokuma made his appearance, but where else were they expected to sit to enjoy food and drink? Well, enjoy wasn't the aptest term to use. Caelie was never a good cook, and the sandwich she currently held in her hands was... only palatable at best. Two slices of bread with greens in-between, as well as slices of thin ham. Honestly, if it wasn't for the dressing that made it barely bearable, Caelie probably would have thrown it all away. As it stands though, she was seated towards the end of the dining table with her lunch and a mug of coffee.
Her thoughts drifted between many doors, the rooms of which individually were due at least an hour's worth of time spent contemplating. There were so many variables, so many things to take into consideration. What are the predicted tendencies of the people she's interacted with. What her best guess was for those she hadn't. Whether there was a need for more drastic self-defense tools, more so than what she already had on her. For someone like Caelie who often thought too deeply and too greedily about even relatively mundane things, a situation like this was... it was exhausting, as evident by the growing number of pages scrawled in the notebook tucked deep in her purse. She was careful not to be seen out in the open with it.
While it slightly disturbed her, this time spent unproductively lounging instead of coming up with contingencies, Caelie recognized the need for periodic breaks. Furthermore, it wouldn't do well for her image to be seldom seen out of her room. It was a delicate balance that she thought necessary to keep up, and so, that was why she currently sat seated here in the dining room, with a half-eaten sandwich and an almost-finished mug of coffee, listlessly leaned back in her chair as she tried to take stock of it all.

Koneko had been walking about the manor, checking up on various students and ensuring they were all holding up alright, when she noticed Caelie in the dining hall. The girl was forlornly eating a sandwich, which was rarely ever a good position to be in. Especially considering it didn't seem like a very good sandwich. With a sigh, Koneko considered some of the possibilities. "Chances are that everyone who's upset in the manor right now is technically feeling so because of the collars... Which makes it my fault." Guilt churned her stomach. "Urgh... My talent is to help people face what's upsetting them to feel better, yet here I am giving them more to stress about... I'm the worst! God only knows why I was even accepted to this show in the first place... Maybe the killing game was intended from the start, and everyone just put me in here to be rid of me..."Catching herself on the negative thought, Koneko aggressively shook her head to clear it. "No! I can't think like that right now, there are people who need me!" She took a deep breath, steeling herself. "There will be plenty of time for regrets if someone does end up getting killed... But for now, I have to keep pushing forward."Pulling a friendly and amiable smile to her face, Koneko strolled in and approached Caelie, pulling out the seat next to her. "Hello there, you're Miss Ariane, right? Would you mind if I took a seat here?"tag(s): @someone ━ words: 000 ━ remember that you are loved

► Yuichiro Yuuki 385 I feel bad for all of them | Gloomy. Everything in the manor suddenly felt horribly gloomy. The last few hours were traumatizing to say the least. If the five stages of grief applied to this situation, he was on depression already, and wouldn't be leaving that place for a long time in all likelihood. He couldn't fake it; couldn't even imagine pretending to be his usual happy go lucky self. And he hated himself for it. If he couldn't cheer people up in trying times, than what the fuck was this all for? It was one of his few truly useful skills and he couldn't tap into it when it was needed most.
The boy had been laid out on his bed, staring at the ceiling for hours. They were out there... Ayako, Emil, Ryuu.. Mom and Dad... With collars strapped to their necks that will blast open their heads like a shotgun shell through a fucking watermelon if someone in the manor didn't die soon. Plus the two there. Nero and Valentina. They were going to die too, weren't they? They-- Yuichi sat up as fast as a bullet. He hadn't noticed how anxious he was getting; how heavy his breaths were. "I need to get out of here. This room's suffocating me.." He muttered to himself. What going out would solve, he wasn't sure, but maybe roaming the halls would do his head some good.
It did, actually. With hands in pockets, he roamed the manor for an nondescript amount of time, feeling his heart slow and rationale return minute by minute. Now shouldn't have been the time for panic, but for consideration.
He entered the main area, looking towards where they first met Ai before sighing. Damn it. At least she wasn't dead, he thought. Silence fell before he heard a voice from the dining hall, and a familiar one at that. Curiosity piqued, he walked towards the source to find Caelie and the counselor girl. Huh... "Hey ladies." He spoke, a bit quieter than usual. "I didn't expect to find anyone.. out right now." Seeing Caelie reminded him... She asked for Emil's contact info not long ago. And had grabbed his attention in that very location when Monokuma first arrived.
Stepping closer to the table, he somewhat averted his gaze from Koneko's, subconsciously. "How are you holding up?"

[attr="class","box2"] Calie was midway through a bite when she saw Koneko walk in. Quickly setting it down, she grabbed a napkin and dabbed at crumbs before repaying the girl with a similar sort of smile. Silently noting how her question for permission came after the act of pulling out a chair, Caelie simply gestured with her hand and said, “Go ahead.”
Bringing her mug in towards her portion of the table so as to not intrude upon Koneko’s space, Caelie pondered whether earlier solitude was preferred to this new arrangement. But to be fair, the Aspiring Counsellor was someone that Caelie had wanted to get to know better. One of the few whom she had rated to be a priority, in all honesty, all due to the nature of that talent. If the practice of counselling was embodied as a cart, a variety of luggage would have been brought along with. And to that end, Koneko would either be a great ally or a rueful, lost opportunity.
“I would like to apologize for Miss Rossi’s actions,” said Caelie, lips curved upwards with a touch of regret. “It wasn’t an easy decision for you to make, and her proud… selfish proclamation surely didn’t help matters at all. I wasn’t so fond of her using my name like that either, to be honest,” she continued, taking a silent sip of coffee. “Though I should probably be thankful for her good intentions.”
Following that, she looked back to the entrance and saw a newcomer to their little impromptu meeting. Of course, Caelie gave him a pleasant smile. Yuichiro was a… good person to keep friends with.
“I could say the same to you,” she said in response to his quip about people being up and about, though her jest was notably softer in tone as well. Meeting his eyes only briefly, Caelie broke their gaze. Holding her mug with both hands, she lingered for a few, short two seconds before saying, “I could be better,” smiling in a remorseful sort of manner befit for this morbid reality they found themselves in. “Any tricks to keep the mind sane, doc?” she asked, keeping much of that same expression as she looked toward Koneko.

Koneko looked down, shifting in her seat uncomfortably. The last thing she wanted to think about was the ordeal with the collars, yet... She knew better than anyone that bottling up how you felt would do more harm than good. "To be entirely honest," she admitted, "I regret choosing Miss Rossi. I'd like to foster unity between all of us, so seeing someone who could so easily throw another person under the axe like that... It struck a nerve, to be honest."
She glanced up as Yuichiro walked in and greeter her and Caelie. For a moment, she debated whether or not to respond, because the singer looked almost... uncomfortable with her presence. However, after a short lull in the conversation, she decided to speak up. "I'm... Doing alright, all things considered." She managed a weak laugh. "Unfortunately, it seems I've become well-known amongst our group... For all the worst reasons."She considered Caelie's question for a moment, wracking her brain for a satisfiable answer. "Well, unfortunately, I'm not a hundred percent sure what the right move here is, but," she tried to give a confident expression, "my advice would simply be to keep moving forward and persevering. Also, to give a balanced level of trust to those around you, so you aren't feeling paranoid that everyone's out to get you, but you're also not so trusting that one could take advantage of you. And, of course, the obvious; don't lose hope."tag(s): @someone ━ words: 000 ━ remember that you are loved

► Yuichiro Yuuki 326 n/a | There was a long, pregnant silence that fell over the dining room when he walked in and interrupted them. Or was that his imagination. Regardless, you couldn't deny the moody atmosphere that plagued them all. Neither of the girls responded to him until Caelie finally spoke up. Shrugging, the blonde approached the table and rested his palms on it. "I couldn't stand just staying in my room. It's so quiet in there, my ears were starting to buzz. Needed to take a walk." Of course he had some minor tinnitus that cropped up every now and then. The singer wasn't a moron, he wore ear plugs to his performances. But they were still loud.
The girls' answers left him releasing a melancholic sigh. It was to be expected. No one was doing good at that time. Well, there was probably one person who was ecstatic, though Yuichiro refused to actually acknowledge them as a human being. "...Same here. To be honest, I'm.. Really worried." About them. The people outside. He gave Caelie a forced smile. "Damn. I still owe you Emil's contact info." Hopefully she'd even be able to use it one day. God dammit.
He winced at Koneko's comment. That's right. Some people had it worse at that time. His friends lives may have been in peril, but at least he didn't have to make such an awful choice. Walking over to the girl, he pulled up a chair beside her. "I don't think any less of you. It's not your fault; this is all the fault of some sicko that seriously needs a taste of his own medicine." He closed his eyes, trying to calm himself. Anger never got you anywhere.
The boy stayed silent as Koneko gave them both a little advice on how to keep their sanity. Huh.. This girl really was the Aspiring Ultimate Councillor. "That's good to keep in mind... We're lucky to have someone like you here. Really lucky."

[attr="class","box2"] Even with the knowledge that Yuichiro was seated right there, Caelie couldn’t help but stare for a little as Koneko’s head turned down. This was her first chance at observing this girl up close, and really… hm. From the cat getup to her tender sort of timidness, yet it was one mixed with a peculiar sense of boldness (or headstrong-ness?), Caelie quite fancied all of those things.
Of course, likewise most probably couldn’t be said. Along with the vast majority of everybody else, it looked like their counselor-cat looked down with bitter distaste at selfish humans. Pity.
Oh, right. There was that thing about Emil’s contact. It hadn’t even been a full week, had it? Yet her having asked for it was an act already forgotten. Understandable, what with their current circumstance, but… perhaps this killing game was getting to her in more ways than one. “I’d still love to have it,” replied Caelie, giving Yuichiro a pleasant smile. “A keepsake to get me through these days.”
Promptly, Koneko came up with an answer for sanity perseverance. Like any diligent patient, Caelie stayed silent as she took in Koneko’s words. And she did so quite faithfully, as advice from a counselor had a high likelihood of being truly worthwhile, as aspiring as they may be. And while this wasn't to say that Caelie's experiences with previous shrinks were... worthwhile, there was still a certain degree of respect that she felt towards them. Besides, there was also that whole thing about great ally/regretful loss to keep in mind, wasn't there?
“So you advocate balance,” muttered Caelie at the end of the counsellor’s advice. Satisfied, she expressed it through a nod and a smile. “It’s a good thing to strive for, a realistic approach.” she said, leaning back in her chair. “What Yuuk... Yuichiro said," she continued, giving the boy a soft smile (and a silent question for first-name approval) before looking back to Koneko, "-we're really quite fortunate to have you here."

Koneko's face became softly dusted with red at the praise coming from both sides, and she smiled shyly. However, the smile left her feeling a bit guilty, for her own stress and anxiety would surely stifle her ability to help anyone else. However... Perhaps confessing that here would only cause the others to become more unsettled. She always told others to allow themselves to feel, and to not take on the burdens of everyone else's happiness upon themselves, but... Well, she had a habit of never taking her own advice. She wasn't human, after all. She was far more resilient and thus, it wouldn't be fair to everyone else if she let herself break under the pressure. She was the only one who could do this, and thus, she had to be strong no matter what. She'd already messed up by letting her secrets and her insecurities therein slip earlier... She couldn't do that again. So, instead of voicing her own doubts about her ability, she simply gave the two a soft smile. "It's no problem at all. I'm always here to help if anyone ever needs me."tag(s): @someone ━ words: 000 ━ remember that you are loved

► Yuichiro Yuuki 259 sad boi | Nodding at Caelie, he took a pen out of his left pocket and grabbed a napkin. "I unfortunately don't have any paper on hand. Though, I do try to keep a pen on hand in case I need to sign anything." He hoped Caelie wouldn't mind if this was sort of a makeshift note. Or that Emil wouldn't mind him giving his contact info to someone out of the blue. At least Yuichi was worrying that his friend would have time to care. He smiled softly. "There you go. Sorry if my handwriting isn't great." He slid the napkin over to the girl and leaned back.
The singer kept his eyes on Koneko, trying to read her a little. She was... Anxious, that much was obvious. Yuichiro was never very good at reading people though. After a moment of silence, he heard Caelie stumble on his last name before saying his first. The boy chuckled a bit. "C'mon, Caelie. You don't need to stick to last name basis. Call me whatever you want." It felt.. light. A carefree flicker in the darkness. Moments like that gave him hope. Returning his attention to Koneko, he twirled his bangs around a finger. "Just do what you can, okay? This is hard on all of us, I know you're no exception."
Looking down at his hands, he fumbled with a silver ring on his right hand. With a sigh, he shrugged. "If only we met long before this, Miss Kikaimoto." He normally didn't say things so formally, so it must've been serious.

[attr="class","box2"] Caelie gently accepted the napkin. Unfolding it, she took a second or two to glance inside before giving Yuichiro a satisfied smile. "Thank you," she said, unzipping the purse hanging by the side of her chair to place it inside.
Reaching for her mug, Caelie kept an eye on their gentle resident counselor. Would the right thing to do be to reach out and ruffle Koneko's hair through her hat? To place a reassuring hand on her shoulder? Caelie didn't... quite know. While it made sense that a degree of closeness was required before sympathetic physical gestures were to be made, exactly... how close was close? And there was also the question of timing, wasn't there? While some people may simply feel when the right moment was... yeah, that's not exactly going to work out.
How about just some verbal comfort instead? It was the safer option, albeit one that provided less of a reward. Though... being totally risk averse wasn't exactly her style.
"We're here for you too, so please remember that," reassured Caelie, tenderly placing a hand on Koneko's shoulder. "Even counselors need other people too sometimes, don't they?" she continued, smiling softly as she took her hand away.
Soon, a soft, listless sigh was heard. Sensing the seriousness in what Yuichiro was hinting towards, Caelie wrestled with desperate curiosity before finally speaking out.
"Even if we have to live with past regrets, it doesn't mean we can't make use of what we have here today. Yuichiro, K... Koneko, would you two like some privacy while I make some coffee for all of us? Or tea, perhaps?"
Assuming that their responses were along the lines of 'yes please, that's really kind of you,' or really, just simple acceptance of her offer, Caelie would promptly leave the room with her silverware in hand to prepare just that.

Koneko shifted a bit. "Really... You shouldn't worry about me. I'll be fine. Please, just worry about yourselves." Her purpose was to keep stress off those who truly mattered, not for people to support her the minute things got tough. When Caelie offered tea, Koneko had not the heart to refuse. She figured she could somehow pretend to drink it... But how on earth would she manage that without looking suspicious or offending her? She could try to drink it, but if she wasn't careful, she could short herself out.. And even if she didn't do that, she'd still have to clean out her 'stomach' later, which was always a bit of a gross experience for everyone involved. "Met me... Earlier? If you ever need my help, please don't hesitate to ask. It's never too late to recover if you're suffering from some kind of stress," she replied to Yuichiro, a gentle smile on her face. However, she felt that now was certainly not an ideal time to have a discussion like this. Shaking her head, she decided to change the subject. "Onto... Er... Lighter topics, how are you feeling about some of our fellow contestants?" She asked Yuichiro, but the question was also open to Caelie when she returned. "I feel that forming bonds with one another--at least, those who have proven themselves trustworthy--is key to making it through this killing game."tag(s): @someone ━ words: 000 ━ remember that you are loved
