[attr="class","tgg"] [attr="class","TheGreatGatsby"] 森羅万象 all things are sacred. ...In hindsight, nobody really had any clue where the elevator was going. Up? Down? Sideways? Was the building moving around the elevator?
That’s why, when the elevator started to tremble to a lesser degree than before, some of the contestants were outright scared of dropping into the void. Of, course, that couldn’t happen; what’s a game without multiple chapters? A movie, that’s what. And this certainly…
...wasn’t Little West Hollywood. The doors opened slowly, and finely gritted sand began to trickle in its entrance and slough down the sides. As the contestants exited the elevator, they’d feel it. Real sand. Real, beautiful, warm sand. And…
...an island. It really was Survivor Island. No barriers. No limits. That’s when you noticed the elevator was...well. This didn’t make any sense.
The elevator had risen out of the sand. And before anyone could reenter, it was gone, leaving you all with the ambient crashing waves that came dangerously close to your feet. What the hell? How did--you suddenly got the feeling that no matter how much you dug, you weren’t finding it again. Huh.
Before you could continue pondering the thought, his voice came once more. Lovely.
“Upupu…” You turned around to see the bear in a grass skirt and a seashell bra, sensually swaying his holographic hips side to side. Seductive. “Aloha oe, aloha oe, two contestants down, 19 to go...I mean...hi, kids!” He stopped dancing to jump up and wave. “I see you’ve accepted your golden ticket to the illustrious Survivor Island~! Well, that was no mistake, I’ll have you know! You get to see me rock my stuff day and night! What I just did...that was a preview!” He seemed a liiiittle too proud of himself.
“I guess you’re still unsure though, right? ‘Cause I’m a scary bear-y, right? Well...like any good timeshare, there iiiis a catch. You see...paradise, by nature, is paradoxical! How can a paradise exist when people's’ ideas of paradise wildly differ?! My paradise, for instance, is a forest with 100 acres, and a rabbit, and a tiger, and a pig, and an owl, and a donkey, and I get to eat them all with honey for breakfast! Puhuhuhu! While...let’s say Ms. Karlsen’s paradise is the inside of a clock or something! See what I mean? That makes paradise...a paradox! And do you know how uuuuunstable paradoxes are?!”
Uh oh. Some of you may see where he’s going with this.
“They can be super wild--or in this case, wet and wild! It’s like an Old World romcom, oh my…” He blushed, holding himself. “But this isn’t hot bear babes in bikinis, like moi! It’s earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, thunderstorms...hail! All bad things, comin’ in hot! Or cold. I don’t know, ask the Meteorologist!” He bashfully rubbed the back of his head. “So heeeere’s the deal! Every day, the weather will get worse...bit by bit. Little by little. Until...wham! Have you ever heard the “boil the frog” theory? If it happens slow enough, you’ll never see it coming when it kills ya! So bewaaaaaare...I don’t know if this island can keep from tearing itself asunder if you wait too long! But, Mr. Monokuma, you ask! How will it stop? Well...with a sacrifice to the gods, of course! Let’s go, and I’ll show you what I mean!” With a wave, he starts to glide through the rainforest’s path, toward something you can’t see in the middle.

Dorothy listened to the bear talk smack about the remaining survivors once more, while making a reference to an old cartoon Dorothy didn't even like. She then heard what the motive was.
"Really.", she said. "Bad weather's our reason to end someone's life this time around. Isn't that fantastic.", her voice dripping with sarcasm.
"I hope mom's alright, still.", she thought. In any case, the Polyglot could use this opportunity to relax for a bit before the weather got too out of hand. Still shocked that someone was killed however, she figured she could spend some time with the other participants though.
Or maybe she would invest some time in self reflection, who knows? Or she could read a book or five, maybe learn a new language or two... just kidding.
"I'm not gonna kill for a motive like that, no way.", she assured herself before wandering off.

► Yuichiro Yuuki N/a 327 | First, the sunlight temporarily blinded him. And, as his pupils slowly contracted, he got a good view of the beach. And just like that, Yuichi was dumbstruck. What he was looking at was.. Beautiful. And unbelievable. The singer caught his breath and knelt down, grabbing a clump of sand and letting it flow between his fingers. "Okay..." He stood up and stared out at the ocean. "I'm willing to admit when I'm wrong. This is.. at the very least a pretty convincing fake beach." Or somehow a real one. Wait, how the shit did they get there via an elevator?
Once Monokuma grabbed their attention, Yuichi quickly covered his eyes. It would be a rare occurrence for him to avert his gaze from a bikini, but Monokuma was very lacking in the sex appeal department. Flat out gross, frankly. His comment about a golden ticket did raise some theories in the boy's mind. Maybe they flew there, like in that old movie? It'd make more sense than anything about this situation. Probably why even the strongest among them were knocked down.
Then Monokuma revealed the motive. Of course, put them in a foreign area and make it lethal to force someone to kill. To be fair, it was a creative method, but... "So, what. You gain superpowers now? How are you gonna control the weather?" There was one particularly terrifying possibility, that they were all in a simulation. Hell, maybe everything they knew was a lie, not just the past year. But that was unlikely, right?
As the monochrome bear made way towards.. Er, something that was probably creepy, Yuichi smacked himself on the cheek with an audible slapping sound. Wincing, he then rubbed the reddening skin. "So, this probably isn't a dream. That's one idea outta the way. Uh.." He looked at the others and shrugged, trying to smile a bit. "Don't assume any of you have any idea what the hell just happened, do you?"

"By all means, none of this should be possible. Taking an elevator to a tropical island, and also controlling the weather... Oh, too bad I killed my ability to give any fucks." Koneko seemed pleased with herself that she could swear guilt-free now. "...did you hear that? Fucks? I said that. I said the F-Word."Emotions or not, Koneko Kikaimoto remains a huge dork. She takes a few steps onto the beach. "I suppose this won't be so bad. I have never been to a beach or an island... So there will be plenty of new things to register for my data banks. I simply hope cleaning the sand out of my joins won't become too regular of an occurrence." you cant wake up - this is not a dream

As if the current state of their new environment wasn't already an annoyance, Monokuma was now threatening to make it worse. And yet, Irene seemed no more upset than she had on the way there, only a slight frown on her face.
"I believe I have made this clear, but I shall repeat it. I do not like you, Mr. Bear."
While it was an annoyance, that was all it was; an annoyance. She could not halt productivity on the behalf of something so trivial. Their new accommodations were not to her liking, but in order to continue living, whether in their circumstances or in the world in general, one must be able to adapt to some degree in the face of a challenge. When designing one of her creations, modifications had to be made in design to better suit the current need. She would have to adapt to this island, as much as she disliked it.

Well it was certainly a tropical island, but that didn't impress Orica much. After all, finding joy in this would both be falling for the bear's manipulation and be finding some joy in something in the old world that she didn't restore with her own hands. The only benefit to this place was that it would allow her to perform some training on sand. Sand based combat was something that was hard to do with the limited area that was saved, but complaining about that was a weakness.
Then the bear let loose the information about the downside of this island before going off somewhere else. ”If anyone can weather whatever weather the bear throws at us, it will be me.” She said, not exactly boasting, just stating the obvious out loud. ”In fact, I look forward to it. It is not often that one gets the opportunity to endure the elements at their strongest.”

Wow. I knew he said he would take us here, but I still don't believe it. We're actually here. On an island. An island we got to through an elevator. An elevator connected to the manor. Why, just for once, can't things make sense? It's all I'm asking for, really.
"Survivor Island... t-that's an odd choice of name."
Especially since some of us might not make it back.
I- why would I say something like that? Did I just lose faith in the others just like that? Why am I like this? Let's just... I don't know anymore. Let's just focus these awful, negative thoughts on Monokuma for right now.
Listen to him, making jokes about the dead. Whoever is in control of this bastard machine clearly has no regard for human life. Fine. It just makes it easier for me to track them down and kill them later on. It'll be just like before. A sword through the heart... and a knife... in his- his-
It doesn't matter now. Let's focus on the motive instead. It's all I can do to make it go away. Focus on one despair to get rid of the other. That's how it's always been.
"P-Paradoxes? What does that have to do with the island? I thought paradoxes were things that had to do with computers, not with islands?"
Is there something I'm not understanding? I know I'm not the best with technology, but I can't be missing something that simple, right? Man, I can't help but feel stupid.
"How do you know the weather will get worse? You c-couldn't possibly do anything to change it. That would be crazy!"
Why am I lying to myself? You have the experiences to know he can do whatever he pleases. You saw him shatter Ai like a piece of glass, you saw him pal around with Cheshire, and you definitely can't forget watching Ren's horrible, horrible death. If he wants us dead, he'll find a way to kill us all.

As the elevator door opened you could see Sanura's eyes sparkle. It's almost as if she forgot about the absurdness of the situation they were put in. Not that it would do her any good to begin with, but having the beach and all this sand at her disposal seemed to have lifted her mood a lot.
She practically ran out as fast as she could, even if she had heels those weren't going to stop her now. While approaching a spot alone where she could use the sand whichever way she could think of, she stopped as she heard Monokuma's explenation.
"So that's why it would be called Survivor Island..." Sanura spoke as if she couldn't be bothered to worry for now. After all, she could just be busy with her own little projects she had in mind. Sure someone would end up dead sooner or later by the hands of a student or even the weather, but Sanura blocked those thoughts out and began thinking on something new to create.

Good Meals, Good Friends, Good Laughs, Good Murders, What more could anyone want?
Nero smiled as he walked out of the elevator, looking at the wonderful beach and the even more amazing heat. Truly, he was home again, if only for a little while. All he was missing was his family, and it'd be perfect. But, unfortunately, nothing lasts with Monokuma around.
"Hello Monokuma..." said Nero with a tired look on his face as he prepared himself to hear the bear's tale.
Nero frowned as he listened to Monokuma. It seemed that his paradise would end sooner than he'd have liked. And the only way to stop it was murder... It was an interesting motive to say the very least, but he knew that they would find a way off the island. Nobody would kill again... right?
"If we can't fight him... Might as well follow him" said Nero with a dejected expression on his face. Thankfully, his leg was starting to feel better already, so if his motive was physically based, then he'd at least wouldn't get last... Probably.

By all means and accounts, the way that Apollo and the other contestants managed to reach the island did not make the slightest bit of sense whatsoever. How in the world did an elevator manage to take them up out of the mansion and into an entire island out in the middle of the ocean? Did this mean that they had been living underground this entire time? Or maybe this was really a whole new floor of the mansion altogether? This whole situation just raised so many questions.
But Apollo didn't really care for any of that right now. He was far too busy being taken aback by the utter beauty and majesty of the island paradise. The white sandy beaches, the lush palm trees, the rolling cool blue ocean waves. It was just breathtaking. Of course, the sight was immediately ruined by Monokuma, who was apparently dancing in a hula outfit. There were plenty of people Apollo could imagine who could pull off a bikini, most of whom already existed among the other contestants, but Monokuma was clearly not one of those people.
And of course, if that weren't unsavory enough, as Apollo listened to the explanation, he suddenly lost his smile again. Of course it was another motive. That's how it was. They just couldn't be left to their own devices in a simple island paradise. No, Monokuma had to make it deadly. But Apollo didn't have the slightest inclination to complain, so he settled for a short sigh while holding himself in his arms.
