Good Laughs, Good Murders, What more could anyone want? "What a day..." sighed Nero as he relaxed at the bar. It had been a long and interesting day for the Baker as he explored the island in depth some more, but now was officially his break time, where he could cut back for a minute and just... relax. He didn't particularly trust Cheshire, but as long as it didn't try anything funny, Nero didn't mind sitting next to it at the bar.
"Do you have any fine wine Cheshire?" questioned Nero as he relaxed into his seat, glad for the existence of this isolated island. It was nice to be served for once, instead of serving. And he couldn't deny that it was a bit of a challenge to even get to the island, it made up for it in it's isolation. He could simply relax without worrying, at least for a few minutes.
"Hopefully Nox will be able to get here by itself..." said Nero as he sat up. He had called Nox to the island, as he remembered that she had requested to see Ai, yet unfortunately Nero had forgotten about the request altogether. Hopefully, this will fix that promise, and perhaps they could learn more from Ai and Cheshire, not to mention learning about the girl herself. Nero the Drinking Baker

The whole situation has left an almost permanent hole in her heart, and she felt it pulse and ache with every single breath she took, as well as every step and every word. As she said before; however, she continued to smile. She continued to pretend to be happy and being so damn good at doing it for so long, after that brief moment of weakness no one seemed to question her 'unwavering' positivity.
She found herself constantly in a war with her own mind, which can sometimes be seen on her face, but it's such a small flash that you could probably barely notice it before it was gone, replaced by a dazzling grin and a calming, peppy voice. She skipped around, before pausing at the bar, noticing Nero finally. She walked up to him, sighing and smiling at him brightly. 'You can do this, Nox. Smile and wave, you can't afford to do anything less.'
"Hi, Nero! Thanks for meeting up with me~" Her voice rang out cheerfully but somehow didn't seem too annoying. Her Korean accent was pretty clear when she did so, however. |

Nero was relaxing as he heard a voice ring from behind him, one turn revealed the presence of the very girl he was waiting for, Nox.
"I'm very glad that you could show up Miss Nox. After all, I truly hope that today's experience will be for the best and that it will help you feel better." said Nero with a thoughtful look on his face. He remembered the after math of the trial, to a degree. And unfortunately, the poor girl had not taken Ren's death well, and hopefully he could help now...
"What do you want to do then?" questioned Nero as he looked at the Ultimate. If she wanted to stay and take a drink first, he wouldn't complain, but if she wanted to speak with Ai, he'd be glad to help. Nero the Happy Baker

I wanna get to know you, too! I don't know too many people here, yet. So it'll be nice."
She gave him a soft smile, trying to keep her positivity up. Her chest twisted tightly when she really thought about what she said. 'You didn't know Ren well, either. Didn't give him the time of day. And now he's dead, and you'll never know.' She shook her head, trying to force the thoughts out of her mind. She hummed when he spoke about making her feel better, her mind in a frenzy trying to find out what to say. She was like this now; constantly on edge trying to figure out what was best to say. She didn't want to speak or say anything wrong.
"I... I hope it helps me feel better, too." She figured it was okay to admit out loud. "It's been a rough few days, y'know? How are you handling things?" She asked, getting a drink and sipping on it lightly as she focused on him, holding the cup tightly to make her hands not shake. |

Nero smiled as the Ultimate opted to take up his offer on the drink and sat back down to his drink.
"Here's to the happiness of friends, past and present! After all, a good drink is always good for calming the mind, so long as it's not too much." chuckled Nero as he raised his glass to her. It was a nice day out, and to spend it drinking with a hopeful friend, he couldn't ask for more. After a sip, Nero answered Nox's question, glad with her inquisitive nature.
"Well, it's been rough for me as well, perhaps not as rough as you though. Ren's and Excrest's death hit me hard, I got knocked out by Koneko, and Ai's decided to... move on from me, so I suppose this is a nice break." lamented Nero as he took another sip. It had been fortunate that Nox had decided to take a drink, as he needed all the time in the world to prepare himself to greet Ai again. Hopefully she still wasn't too mad after last time... After a moment he turned back to the Ultimate.
"Ah, what am I doing? This journey purpose is for happiness, not lamenting the losses. Let us talk of our happy memories since coming in here, for surely that will make this place more enjoyable!" exclaimed Nero with a smile, patting Nox on the back. There was no point in wallowing in despair when you could remember the happy memories.

Nox Tenebris on stage, front and center. ♡ | [attr="class","technoscroll"]❝ Nox found herself rather quickly growing to like Nero's calm but friendly personality. It reminded her a bit of Irene, just less... robotic. Though being robotic wasn't a bad thing!
She raised her glass back as he gave her a toast, taking another sip from her drink as well. She wasn't very much of a toaster, but going to a lot of formal functions made you used to them. Besides, she found herself not minding very much considering their situation. She hummed at what he said, but found herself frowning a bit. She didn't want to be rude and simply let him finish, but immediately turned to reassure him.
"It's been rough for everyone, Nero. Don't compare your pain as if I'm going through more, so you shouldn't say much, okay? Everything we feel is valid" She found herself saying, mentally cursing at herself that she revealed she was upset. "Oh, yeah sorry about Koneko. I wish... I wish I did more. A-and I'm also sorry about AI!" She stammered out quickly, a tiny bit of embarrasment in the form of a blush floated over her face. She wasn't very good at comforting, but she did have a way with words.
"...We should always remember the sadness of our pasts, but try to... to find happiness in the hope for the future. That's how I've felt, anyway. I'm sure things... things will work out, and we can be free again. Then maybe, you can talk things out with AI." She said with an encouraging grin. |

Nero smiled as the Ultimate took a drink and responded to him. It was good to talk with someone. Though, Nero could see Nox's point behind her speech.
"I suppose you're right. I guess we've all been through a bit, but I suppose it's nice to just take a moment and talk with someone." thanked Nero as he took another drink. Thinking about it, it was nice that he got all the negativity out now, so that he can now only go up with his relationship with the two.
"I suppose you're as wise as I'd expected you to be. You're right, we need to Hope for a better future, but we can't just wait for one. We need to create our own future, one of happiness and joy!" exclaimed Nero with a great grin on his face. As long as they kept their head straight, they would be able to proceed to a bright and happy future.
"Anyhow Nox, would you be interested in talking to Ai now? I bet she's been waiting for you." said Nero with a warm smile. It would be rude to keep her waiting for Ai for too long. It wouldn't be right. Nero the Happy Baker

If she was being honest, he came off to her as overbearingly polite and possibly a bit shallow, but she was learning now she was completely wrong. Nero was a person of politeness and courtesy, but he most definitely had substance, and was a damn good person to have a casual conversation with, as well. She smiled at him, giving him a small chuckle and nod at his mention of carving a better future for themselves.
When he brought up AI, she took another sip of her drink before answering. "Yeah, I'd love to meet AI! I hope I didn't make her wait too much. I just... I guess I want to thank her for attempting to help us, but I also wanted to know who AI is, since I just met them at the trial... sorta." She rubbed the back of her head. |

Nero finished his drink as he listened to Nox's confirmation, with a smile on his face. It'd be a bit awkward... but hopefully it wouldn't become uncomfortable for Nox. Besides, Ai was still friends with him... right?
"Let us go to the Ai then! I bet that she's been pretty lonely with only Cheshire to talk to, hopefully we can make her happy!" exclaimed Nero as he got up, offering a hand to the Ultimate Internet Personality. After all, a Fiammes had one rule in life, and that was to be considerate and kind, when they could.
"And thank you for this nice talk Nox, I'd like to think it helped us both a bit, even if it was only a little." happily noted Nero with a simple smile on his face. To think, that a visit purely meant to help another would help him. Fate could be kind sometimes, after all. But for now... it was time to talk to Ai. Nero rounded the corner and saw the Coconut called Ai, stopping for a moment as he saw her, before continuing.
"...Hello Ai... It's good to see you doing well..." said Nero with a sad smile. Ai leaving him hurt him even now, and hopefully by the time the day was over, that pain would be lessened. Thankfully, aside from turning into a coconut, Ai seemed okay, and that was all Nero could ask for. But this visit wasn't for him, it was for Nox. Nero the Conflicted Baker

She saw the small smile on his face, and found it in herself to hesitantly smile back, a tiny hint of hope bubbling into her chest. Hopefully things didn't go horribly wrong. She couldn't find it in herself to see someone she had just finally met and made friends with die. Not again.
"It's... not a problem. And this talk really did help, Nero... I hope you consider me a friend... because I consider you my friend." She said softly to him in response.
She walked with him, stuck in her thoughts as she twiddled with her hair. A part of her was almost screaming at her for talking to someone and befriending someone in this situation, while the other half knew the pain in her chest would only grow if she isolated herself from this tragedy unfolding in front of her. She was snapped out of her thoughts when she saw AI. When Nero gave Ai a sad smile, she put a reassuring hand on his shoulder, a silent 'you're okay' if you will. She then turned back to AI. "Hi, Ai... I don't think we've officially met. I'm Nox Tenebris." |

She wanted to apologize to him – but that would just make him cling back to her and prevent him from having friends who were real – she was just a program. But those around him, he’d been getting to know better since they parted… she wanted to be his friend still but she was pretty sure he would either deny her if she asked or, again, lose touch with the real people instead of a faulty AI like her.
However when Nox talked Ai smiled widely and nodded her head – as she couldn’t wave as she had no hands – she was just a floating head in a cocoanut. She tilted her head and cheerily greeted Nox back. ”It’s a pleasure to meet you Miss Tenebris! I am Ai. Thoughts whirled in her mind as AI brought up Ren, visibly wincing at the reminder of his death and the execution as a whole. She quickly masked it and put on a brave smile. Though she was undoubtebly upset, she also was very understanding. AI tried, as much as she could. Nox couldn't find it in herself to be mad at her for trying to save their friend.
She frowned when AI looked down, deciding she was going to attempt and cheer the program up. She felt a little awkward talking to a floating head, honestly, but if everyone else was giving it a chance, why couldn't she? She seemed night, anywho.
"Don't blame yourself, AI! No one could've known. You... you tried, more than any of us did because we couldn't do much even if we did try... so thank you, for possibly putting yourself in risk for a bunch of strangers." Nox then bowed lightly in respect, smiling. "Now, I wanted to talk to you not about making something up to me. I kinda... just wanted to understand why you tried to help us when you don't even know us well. I imagine you put a lot on the line, including your safety, to do it, so..." |
