Investigating the park had been an interesting, if currently fruitless endeavor. Willow could find no means of escape. For the first couple of days he drifted, not knowing what to do. The chief problem was that he didn't know anybody here. If he did, he could easily anticipate how they would react to a certain situation or behavior and use that to keep breathing or ideally to get everyone out. They had to get out of this park but he had no one he could really trust and no one that really trusted him.
Willow needed friends and fast. Or at the very least someone he could actually work with. That person should be intelligent, with a good head on their shoulders and who could be trusted to behave in a calm and rational way.
He had his eyes on Adrianna. The Flower Maiden had so far proven to be a cool customer and seemed bright enough. She had to be to work well enough with flowers that it was her Ultimate talent. A conversation was needed first to determine if she would be truly suitable however. She was hiding something, what that was the trickster wasn't sure, but it was probably something important enough to play close to her chest in a situation like this.
So. sometime in the late afternoon, he wondered over to the cafe. It was usually pretty quiet at that time of day. He got a bottle of water and an apple, grabbed a chair, and waited. This morning he had slipped a note under Ms. Kravenski's door. It read simply this:
Greetings Ms. Kravenski,
I would like to invite you to a meeting at 3:30 at the Cafe. You seem to be a rather interesting person and I would like to get to know you a bit better. Please do not feel pressured. If you do not wish to meet me I will drop the matter entirely. In a situation such as this, I feel it is only wise to reach out to one another.
Sincerely, Willow Fey, Ultimate Trickster
All that was left was for the Flower Maiden to arrive.

It wasn't everyday that you wake up to find a piece of paper having been slipped under your door. And while it was definitely unusual, she was more than happy for it to have happened - just the sight of it filled the air with whispers of yet another fun experience. Monoworld is chock filled with such things, and the day this place begins to bore her would be a solemn day indeed. Before heading out the door, Adrianna grabbed a packet of flower petals that she's been saving up. Seeing as how their meet would be at the Cafe, she might as well use this chance to try and add at least a little variety into their lives.
During the brief walk from her room to the Cafe, the thought of this being a trapped had crossed her mind more than once. Maybe she'll be jumped on as she turned round the corner, stomped and beaten to the ground. Or perhaps the apple had been poisoned, the victim needing an extraordinary amount of luck to be able to live through? But even as these thoughts lingered around in Adrianna's mind, her feet kept marching on. And while the saying goes that curiosity killed the cat, she decided to pay it no heed. After all, aren't cats supposed to have nine lives?
Eventually coming into sight of one Willow Fey, Adrianna beamed him a smile. She then raised up a finger to tell him to wait, quickly making her way into the kitchen. Lighting the stove to boil some water, she begun to wash and peel the skin off of a few choice apples. Placing them into a teapot she found amongst the wide assortment of obscure cookware and cutlery, she added the petals and poured in hot water. Grabbing two small cups, she placed her tea set on a tray and made her way to the Trickster.
"It's tea with petals and apple skin," said Adrianna, placing it down on their table. "I haven't tried something like this with apple skin before, so I'm not sure how well it'll turn out." Pulling out a chair, she sat down and crossed her legs. "If it does, I don't think I can step foot in a kitchen every again," she said, bringing a hand up to her mouth as she chuckled at the thought.

Willow had hardly been expecting the flower maiden to make tea for him. Though it did make a great deal of sense. A woman devoted to flowers and had her elegant persona... it fit.
"You look very lovely today Ms.Kravenski. And the tea..." He paused as he took a short sip. "Is an excellent touch. Not bad at all, and I'm a coffee person. As expected of someone of your considerable talents."
"Of course this meeting isn't just to exchange pleasantries. It is primarily for us to learn more about one another. I fancy myself an admirer of nature and of beautiful things, though sadly I have not heard much about you. Where were you planted flower girl, and how did you grow?"

Adrianna took special notice in how easily Willow grabbed the cup of tea to drink. 'Does he not fancy me as a killer?' she wondered, though she kept that question unspoken. Instead, she chose to show her appreciation of Willow's words. "I'm very pleased to hear that, though it's a shame that we have to settle for run-of-the-mill flowers. I imagine that the tea would have tasted much better with ones that I had bred myself."
Pouring some into a cup for herself, she raised it up to take a sip. Her expression briefly betrayed a look of light disgust - to compare this to how it would have tasted with her petals was an insult and a half. One of her flowers were specially bred for its petals to be used in tea - a big hit that one could find in any supermarket shelf. This.. this was awfully undesirable, but she has to make due with what's available.
"The town I was born in wasn't anything spectacular, though it has changed drastically over the years. While I was careful to not release my toughest flowers into the world, my very own brother did just that." Letting out a small sigh, she spared him a second's thought about his well-being. "The town's once beautiful landscape is now overrun by one of my flowers set loose, a wild sea of red spider lilies designed to choke out all other competition. As a result, everything else just.. died off."
She ended her story there, still haunted by the sights shown to her by Monokuma and her Student ID. The sight of a sea of dead Kravenski flowers was something she had hoped to never see - just the thought of it was enough to dampen down her day. There's nothing she could do now but live to the end and hope to be set free. Once she's out, she'll begin to breed a second version of that precious flower. That was the plan, to see the revival of her greatest achievement. Everything else was.. arguably secondary.
"How about yourself, Willow Fey? How did you come to be known as the Ultimate Trickster?"

To create trust, one must take calculated risks. Willow knew very well that there was a possibility that she could have poisoned him. However, he had done everything he could to minimize this risk. Meeting during the daytime. Sliding the note underneath her door late enough in the morning that it would be difficult to sneak down to the kitchen and place poison in the kitchen without running into the breakfast crowd. He even closely scrutinized the cafe to make sure nothing was out of place.
However this forethought was hardly foolproof. Willow knew there was a chance he could die and drank anyway. The tea didn't seem poisoned but there was a risk of an odorless, tasteless poison having been left with the Maiden, or some place where she could find it. Willow extended trust by drinking her tea. Taking a gamble here in the hopes of getting a big payday down the line.
"Betrayal by a sibling and a flower so potent it killed off all the competition. A tragic story, to be sure." Willow said and paused, taking another small sip. He wasn't dead yet.
" My life story is a bit of a cliche to be honest. A single Mother working hard to feed her kids and an older sister who didn't want her kid brother in her hair. I was a bored and curious little boy with a penchant for mischief. I did a lot of little things at first. Petty childhood pranks, little ways of thumbing my nose at the adults who kept trying to keep everything so boring when their was so much magic and excitement in the world." He sighed, seemingly lost in thought.
"That got boring eventually. I was ambitious and I needed bigger and better challenges to stave off the boredom. People have always been interesting to me Ms.Kravenski. How they behave and why. What makes them tic. I loved to see their reactions, and I loved to shake them out of apathy and lazy thinking. Anyhow I discovered the internet eventually and that was a helpful resource, as you might imagine." Willow paused again and briefly appeared to have gone somewhere else entirely. But in a moment he was back to smiling politely.
"The first time I made headlines was when I convinced the school I was attending that the city was shutting them down. Everyone from the students to the teachers all the way up to the administration was convinced that by March, school would be out forever. Our principal was a horrible man, bald, bad teeth, cruel and narrow minded. It was well worth the considerable amount of labor involved to watch him sweat for a couple of months. When the whole thing was found out, it got picked up by some blogs and local news stations before finally making national news. The chewing out I got for that little stunt was legendary. " Willow said, ending with a chuckle that seemed to confirm that he thought it was worth it.
"So that's when Hope's Peak must have started paying attention. Anyway, I have been going on for hours. Now you mentioned you had a brother, what is he and your family like. If you don't mind me asking of course."

Adrianna listened intently, her attention only pulled away every so when her cup became empty of tea. "That was a truly fascinating tale. I do wonder though, what became of your mother and sister? Still living out their lives as if nothing had happened?"
When the conversation shifted to her own family however, her expression became one tainted by clouds of disinterest. Waving a hand as if chasing away invisible flies, she spoke hastily, keen to put a quick end to this topic.
"It's no secret that my parents don't believe their son is at fault. His incarceration stuck a deep wedge into the bonds we once had as a family." Her fingers curled around her cup, the warmth of it bringing about a sort of soothing sensation. "When they turned their backs on me, I did the same to them. The gods only know what they're up to now."

" I am terribly sorry to hear that. It is a sad thing when bonds are broken between family members. Sometimes necessary, but always tragic. Even if just for what could have been."
Willow thought of his mother and sister. Where were they now? Safe? Captured? Alive? Dead? He didn't know. Wouldn't know, unless they got out of this place. They had to find a way out.
"My mother and sister, I suspect, are fine. My mother was overjoyed to hear I had been accepted to Hope's Peak. She has had to work hard and be clever to keep us fed and clothed. Anything that could offer me a leg up to make my life easier is wonderful to her. As for my sister, she is a tough girl. Type who enjoys getting into fights. Our relationship has had it's ups and downs but we last parted on friendly terms. The two of them should be just fine." He said, finishing his cup of tea.
"You seem to be a very dedicated person. You must be to have achieved so much. What do you do when you are not tending your flowers? Any hobbies?" Willow asked.

"It's only natural for siblings to squabble. But even with that in mind, the two of them do sound like wonderful people. It's fascinating how one family differs from another, isn't it?" she asked, smiling as she posed the question. "You mentioned that people interest you? I have to admit, that's one of my biggest interests too."
Resting her empty cup down on the table, she poured out what remained in the teapot, waiting as the last drips of tea fell down. "There's a cafe I used to frequent. It was a peaceful place, one that made you feel at ease the moment you step through its doors. Her eyes glazed over as she continued the tale, her heart savoring every second of that memory. "It has a wonderful selection of coffee and tea, the latter which uses the most premium brand there is - my very own. The petals used in it are bred for an enhanced taste and texture, and I must admit to feelings of delight over how successful the product has been."
She gave out a small chuckle, delighted to have a chance to boast about her products. "All of that is beside the point. What I love most about that cafe is simply the view you get from inside. If you walk up to its second floor, there's a little spot in the corner that's perfect for people watching. I often bring my books there too, with it being as perfect a reading environment as it is."
Though Adrianna was smiling, she had little doubt that Willow was able to see how cold of an act it really is. Meeting the Trickster's eyes, she wore the gaze that typically left strangers unsettled. Would he react in the same way as so many others did, she wondered. "Forgive me for changing the topic, but there's something I simply must ask. Tell me, Willow. How much faith do you have in the group we have? What do you think about them, and is there anybody you've already formed a strong opinion about?"
With a casual air that contrasted the change in topic, Adrianna reached out to toy with her cup. Swirling it around, she watched as the small amount of tea moved around inside. "You could start with me, if you wish." she bluntly said, eyes darting up to meet his once more. This was a dangerous game she was playing, especially with someone that has the title of a Trickster, but curiosity (as it often did) got the best of her. In what manner would Willow Fey respond?

Adrianna had cut to the chase faster than he had anticipated. While this meeting was partly so that Willow could potentially pry some entertainment out of the Flower Maiden, the primary purpose was to get a handle on her. Was she competent and trustworthy, or was she dangerous and/or a liability?
So far, Willow wasn't exactly sure. The cold look in her eye seemed to indicate that her persona was just that, a persona. Which was what he expected really. She was wearing a pretty mask for the world to see in an attempt to hide what was truly underneath.
That sort of thing was his job description. Only sometimes the mask he wore wasn't quite so pretty. He had lost track of the times he had played the villain in an attempt to help someone out, and the times he had played a hero for selfish reasons. The role a person played seldom had anything to do with what their motivations were. Adrianna may be acting charming and polite because she wants to murder someone the second everyone turns their backs.
Then again Willow was acting charming and polite and it wasn't to try and execute a murder plan. It was to facilitate trust so they could work on an escape plan. The trickster had no reason to believe that she wasn't trying the exact same thing. Or that the mask she wore now wasn't just the same one she always did.
He couldn't sit and think about this all day. As much as he might want to. He needed to make a decision on how to approach Kravenski. She could be his greatest ally or his greatest enemy and he might never know which.
"They are wonderful people. I am truly lucky to have them as family. I am also glad we share that interest in our fellow man. " Willow said, his gaze telling Adrianna that wasn't all they had in common.
"That Cafe sounds delightful. What I wouldn't do for a good book and a nice view." He paused, and took a swig from the water bottle he had taken out shortly before she arrived.
"On to the question of the day. What do I think of this ragtag group of Ultimates we have here? That's a complex question, especially since I haven't had much of an opportunity to speak one on one with most of them." He paused again, this time looking deep in thought.
"Taro wears his heart on his sleeve. Which would be fine if he had an ounce of caution in him. Root is smart intellectually but has no head for people. Iocus has taken denial so far I am not sure whether to be suspicious or think he is simply an idiot. I don't have much to go off with anyone else. As for you...." Willow took another sip of water and scrutinized Adrianna. This was a dangerous game he had gotten himself into, this meeting with Adrianna. But not meeting would have been even worse. Besides he was stuck in an Amusement park of death, his only options involved risk.
Now...he had been observing Adrianna since they got here...what did he see?
"You need entertainment to survive. That's what you eat, drink and sleep. This whole experience is exciting to you. A game you never expected that just dropped from the sky. You are as comfortable here as you would be anywhere. Things either just roll off you or they fascinate you. You wear a mask that is kind, gentle and inoffensive but it does not speak to the real you, who has plans and ambitions and dreams that are more important than the niceties of society." A pause. Willow closed his eyes briefly and listened to the silence. Should he? Taking a gamble this early was...highly risky and would almost certainly get him killed.
Fuck it. He had come this far already. With his profile of Adrianna already given he had most of his cards on the table anyway.
"You and I aren't that different, you know?"

Adrianna couldn't help but let a chuckle seep out through. The two of them aren't too different, he said. Yes, that was what she wanted to hear. Willow Fey did not disappoint. What started as a small smile spread across her lips soon morphed into a grin, admiring the course of action this man chose to take.
"My my, to compare a maiden to a weasel-like Trickster. If my heart were any more delicate, it might have just broke into two."
Leaning back into her chair, Adrianna stretched out her arms and stifled a yawn. It's been quite a while since she had a discussion as fascinating as the one that just took place. His read on her was basically spot on, and for that she gave him a silent praise.
"If we are indeed as similar as you seem to think we are, what would you propose to be our next step? Perhaps a pact to share information we stumble across?"
The words that just left her mouth felt like something out of a thrilling novel, and Adrianna savored every second of it. The only thing that could have made the moment any better was if she was able to take a sip of tea, but the pot seemed sadly still empty.
"Would you be so kind as to boil some more water? All this talking has left me parched, and the tea had just about ran out." asked Adrianna, carrying on as if an important decision had not just been left on their table. The ball was in his court now, as the saying goes. A partnership with Willow Fey might prove to be a sound decision, though it could as easily be anything but.
'Let's flip a coin, shall we? Head or tails, Willow. Head or tails.'

This whole discussion was fascinating. He had anticipated it to be from the start, though Adrianna did manage to surprise him by being more forthcoming then he had anticipated. The grin on her face....Willow couldn't help but reciprocate. While being in this dangerous situation where he and others could easily die wasn't his prefered option...it was still so exciting. If he found his pulse he could hear his heart beating like a war drum.
"Now now Ms. Kravenski, be careful with a man's pride, it is as delicate as any maiden's heart. I would prefer a different comparison then weasel, perhaps a crow or a coyote?" Willow said.
"As for what to do next? I do think sharing information with each other is the least we can do. In a situation like this...where danger lurks around every corner, it is best if we keep an eye on one another. Perhaps we could meet more often like this." He studied Adrianna. No matter what, he felt like he made the right choice. Whether she was going to be a friend or a foe it would be best to keep her close.
"Boil some water? Yes I will see what I can do about that. " Willow said. This was good, the flower maiden was extending him a measure of trust. He understood that his very title was not doing him any favors in the trust making realm. He might as well be called Ultimate Deceit or Ultimate Liar, which was frustrating when his talent didn't necessarily involve telling any lies. You could trick people with the truth as easily as with a lie after all.
Willow thought as he boiled the tea. In a way this reminded him of back home, talking about running tricks with Karen over coffee. Only life and death weren't at stake there. And Karen was different in a lot of important ways from Adrianna. Still, he was optimistic, he had a deal with one of the more intelligent members of their little group. That was an important step and....
He suddenly caught sight of a familiar black and white figure as he began to make his way back to their table, teapot in hand. Could it be...? Monokuma? What was he doing here?

| HERE'S A LULLABY TO CLOSE TO YOUR EYES Your tears mean nothing to me Monokuma's eye lit up with fire as the Trickster took notice of his arrival. Ah, what was this? Willow, boiling tea for the SHSL Teapot. Well, Flower Maiden wasn't any less silly than Teapot. But as the bear approached and he noticed the slight tremble of the boy's hand, he laughed menacingly under his breath. Quietly, but just loud enough for Adrianna to hear a faint word or two, the bear proposed something most unappealing.
"Willow Fey, are you planning on poisoning Ms. Kravenski? How delightful! I gotta admit, with all the peace and prosperity happening amongst your classmates, I was starting to feel morsels of hope in my weary heart. I thought I might be swayed in that direction, but your despair is overwhelming! Perhaps you're nothing but a killer, one who may just get away with her death...or perhaps I'm just planting some seeds of doubt in the walking teapot. She'd appreciate any seed, right? Well, maybe not all...puhuhu, nevermind. This isn't LOVE LIVE at all. I believe our genre is...murder mystery? And with this, you're putting Monoworld into action."
He had to giggle at his pot stirring. As neutral as he tried to be, seeing potential despair rising once more left quite an impression.
Oh well.
Time for one more article of business.
Skipping out of the kitchen area Monokuma waved joyfully at Adrianna. "Hello, Ms. Kravenski! Please...enjoy your tea."
And with a wink, he had disappeared. |

Willow listened to the bear intently, trying to gauge a possible motive for the truly astounding lies he was whispering. Was it to throw him off? Taunt him as to how Adrianna could have poisoned his tea when they first met? Simply to try and judge if Willow was of the killing mindset. Then Willow realized as the bear skipped out of the kitchen and gave Adrianna that line about enjoying her tea, he was trying to sabotage his efforts with Ms.Kravenski.
Damn it! That Monokuma....whatever bastards were controlling him, they were clever and observed them more closely then he expected. In one swift move they destroyed an entire afternoon's worth of work. This was a major setback considering Willow had given her knowledge, both about himself and how much he knew about her. Adrianna, could very well murder him to give herself the best chance of escaping. Maybe the only way to survive was to...
No! Not all was lost! He just had to calm down, think rationally. Monokuma did whisper so it is possible Adrianna heard little of what the bear had said. However even if she heard all or most of it, Monokuma had left major holes in his plan. Holes he could exploit.
Willow turned his head ensuring that he was at an angle that couldn't be seen by a possible snooping Adrianna, facing the nearby camera he mouthed.
"Sorry Mr.Monokuma, I have invested too much in Ms.Kravenski's trust and these motives are lousy. Work on them. If you do, maybe I will kill next time. "
With that information conveyed to the deviants that ran the show (and the audience at home?) Willow walked out of the kitchen and met Adrianna.
"I have no idea how much you heard about what the bear said. Still I suspect that you know he doesn't seem to want us to work together. Typical of course for a kidnapper towards his captives." Willow said calmly. Then he offered a cheerful smile, poured some tea into his cup and downed it.
"You don't have to drink the tea if you are uncomfortable Ms.Kravenski. You can doubt me, you can leave and plot a way to get rid of me. Or you can take what that little show of Monokuma's truly was. A compliment. That bear and whoever is behind him is running scared. He doesn't want us to work together. And personally, I think he has every reason to be. We could be a force to be reckoned with, if you don't mind my melodramatic turn of phrase." Willow said, before sitting down across from the flower maiden. He tried his best to salvage and even exploit the current situation. Now it was time to see how the Flower Maiden reacted.
Your move Ms.Kravenski, Willow thought, your move.

Death, poisons, murder and all manner of nothing nice. Those words leaked out from within that rickety kitchen, though Adrianna chose to pay it no heed. She wouldn't play so easily into the bear's hands.. or paws, as they were. With an air as if nothing had happened, she sat and waited for Willow's return.
"A force to be reckoned with, you say? I must admit, it does have a nice ring to it," said Adrianna, eyeing him as he drowned that cup of tea. Reaching out to pour some for herself, she graciously followed in imitation. "I'm afraid the bear would have to try harder than that."
Though she said those words out loud, the bear's appearance was awfully unnerving. It was a pesky little brat that wore the cloak of death, and she could almost imagine the Grim Reaper himself trailing behind the bear's pawprints, his scythe eager for reaping.
"It was a pleasant day until just a moment ago," she said, feeling a need to voice out in complaint. The tea begun to take on a taste worse than before, and it felt like somebody had turned a notch up on the brightness of the Sun. What with the arrival of the bear, it seemed like all manner of annoying things were left in its wake.
Still, out of respect for Willow, she would sit here for at least a little while more. Idly wondering if there's anything else between them left unsaid, she leaned back in her seat and looked at him, her smile just a little smaller than it were before.
A force to be reckon with.. It really does have a nice ring to it.
"I suppose it say something about us that we're able to carry on like this, though I can't help but think that the bear was simply testing waters. Monokuma could have done much worse were he serious, and I worry about our partnership when he does." @ Willow Fey

Willow breathed a silent sigh of relief. She hadn't bought into the bears plan. This afternoon had gone well so far, but it was starting to get late, and soon the dinner crowd would roll in. It was about time to bring the conversation to it's end. All and all things had gone better than he had anticipated. Adrianna seemed to be extending him a certain measure of trust however tentative, in exchange for his own show of trust. Things could work out well, if he continued to act in an intelligent fashion.
"I agree, it seems our little bubble has been popped. " Willow said, with a wistful smile.
"It's true, the very nature of our partnership is fragile. If a storm were to come now it would most likely be blown away. However, that could be said for everything beautiful my dear Ms. Kravenski. The bonds between humans are vulnerable, especially in situations such as this, with people such as us. They require work to cultivate. Like any flower they have to be nurtured, like any trick the important part is believing in it until it becomes true. " Willow's voice seems to be further away, a bit distant. It is as if he is remembering something and speaking as much to the past as he is to Adrianna.
"Tomorrow I could die. Or you could die. Or one of us could sully our hands with murder. That's not important. The important thing is that we are alive now and our hands are clean. That's how our partnership survives Ms. Kravenski, one day at a time." Willow said.
He stood up and extended a hand to the Flower maiden.
"It's been lovely speaking to you, and a good day all and all. However like all good things I fear it must come to an end. Good luck on the rest of your day, and farewell." Willow said.
(OOC: Barring anything needing a response from Adrianna's next post or a potential short description of Willow leaving and his final thoughts on this FTE. Willow's role here is done. Hope Shard Get!)
