The moments from last night were still fresh in her mind. She remembered Dorothy's expression before she was sent to her doom. She remembered the looks she received when Monokuma purposefully lied about her being the culprit. She remembered every bit and detail of the execution. She remembered the overwhelming guilt she felt post-trial. The most vivid memory however was her consoling Nox in a soft and empathetic embrace. She remembered how her opinions towards Nox back when they met up in the mansion, but all her judgments have since faded away as time went by.
Mayumi had recently gotten a meal at Restaurant Le Monoworld, though she could barely finish it with the memories of Dorothy's execution and Monokuma's taunting in her mind. It didn't feel as awful as it was before this killing game ordeal began, but it still felt like a total shitfest. She was a bit shaky and pale still, eyes still bloodshot. She rubbed her eye softly before looking down nervously. She didn't really know what she wanted to say, so she ended up just nervously shuffling her feet. Her mind was fuzzy and her shoulders were slumped as she tried to gain some semblance of confidence.
"...A-are you... alright? You l-look sick..." Her voice was unconfident and fragile, but also oddly vague and quiet, as she was focusing on not trying to reveal how she felt with little success. |

She didn't expect anyone to care, really. She felt another part of her heart waver and shake as she let out a hitched breath, shivering again.
She looked at Mayumi closely, trying to figure out if the girl was lying about her care, but couldn't see anything that would indicate so. Tears welled in her eyes at that as she covered her mouth with her hand. She remembered last night, Mayumi simply holding her as she broke down in so much fear and pain, the likes of which she always tried to keep hidden.
"...T-that... sounds about right." She admitted quietly. "I haven't slept... I c-can't sleep I just see-" She shook her head, and you could swear she got more pale.
"...Water... sounds nice?" She sounded unsure, voice wavering in fear of rejection or this being some elaborate way of telling her to fuck off. Who would want the 'real' Nox around, anyway? That's what she told herself as she looked broken yet so very guarded, like a caged animal. |

She escorts Nox into her room. Mayumi's room is… messy, to say the least. There's a bunch of scrapped papers and clothes all over the ground and her desk. Her bed is lazily bade.
"Sorry for the messiness, I just haven't dealt with this whole ordeal well."
She retrieves Nox a glass of cold water, going by her word, migrating to her chair.

She swished around the water in her glass before taking a very small sip, sniffling again as she let her shoulders fully slump into herself, fatigue in all of her features.
Her mind swirled with a spiral of overwhelming questions and ideas, not knowing what to say. She was trying to find words for her turmoiled mind, but all she could do was squeak out a few nervous sounds. She shook her head again, clearing her throat.

She worried that Nox might think of her as selfish, she needed to make Nox as comfortable as possible if she didn't want to fuck this up. After hearing Nox's confession, her eyes widened with concern.
"I… I know how that feels. There was a time before this when-"
She paused, memories flashed before her eyes. All the pain and anguish she had to go through… she had to leave that behind.
"A-anyway, you're not alone in this matter. We all need to leave this place, but we can't just do it by committing murder. As I said before, I'm not going to sugarcoat this situation. People are going to fucking die, maybe me, maybe you, or maybe someone else. We can't be for certain as to how the future will play out, but you can't just let yourself suffer like this. It's going to be hard to put up with this whole predicament, but you need to look on the bright side of things if you intend on surviving. That's why I… I want to help you with that."

She started shakily braiding her hair out of anxiousness, holding her water with her legs. When she was done she took another sip, breathing out quietly again.
When Mayumi was talking to her it seems like a punch of emotions hit her, if her chest stuttering and her eyes watering even more wasn't a tell enough. She paused when Mayumi froze up at her own path, and offered her a weak and understanding smile.
It wouldn't be right of her to pry into secrets, when she hid so many in her heart as well.
She found herself softly crying by the end of the girls speech, her heart completely on her sleeve to show how much turmoil she was in. She knew Mayumi, deep down didn't like her too much in the beginning, but she also knew the girl was being honest in her desire to help now, which made her cry even harder. "I d-don't want t-to suffer anymore...!" She choked out, curling in on herself as she sobbed. "I- d-don't... d-don't leave me a-alone, don't a-abandon me please d-don't leave... h-help me, please..." |

She definitely appreciated it though, when she hugged the girl back and rested her head on Mayumi's shoulder, crying silently and sniffling alongside her. She pat the girls back comfortingly, trying to steady her voice.

Nox Tenebris on stage, front and center. ♡ | [attr="class","technoscroll"]❝ Nox immediately relaxed into the hug, supporting the girl as much as she could through her own tears and silent cries. She was a bit surprised when Mayumi broke down into sobs, but she immediately tried to reassure her softly, patting her back. She felt a swirl of unidentifiable and anxious emotions but tried her best to keep it at bay.
She didn't know what spawned Mayumi to give her another chance... to look at her and actually want to get to know her and not judge her like she had done previously... and she wasn't going to waste it. She finally felt like... someone cared. At least a tiny bit. And through her crying, she just barely smiled.
"...Y-you... if I... if I w-wasn't always t-trying to b-be cheerful and h-happy... you... you wouldn't m-mind. T-that already m-means... everything to me... thank you... This is... w-where everything changes. For the better. I p-promise." Is all she could muster, curling up into her arms and sniffling more. This truly was the start of something... different.
