so, onto the matter at hand.
The first thing you may notice as you step into the Backyard is the sea of lush green grass. For those who grew up in the more rural sectors, it may make you a bit nostalgic! Touching it, however, is a different story. The grass is made of a soft plastic that bends a little too easily underneath your feet, like shreds of what you might’ve found in an Old World spring basket. It’s not uncomfortable, just...different. Everything here, it seems, is different.
The backyard is fairly large, and several picnic tables made of grated metal have been scattered around with no rhyme or reason. There are two sheds in the far corners of the area, but neither one seems to have any indication of what they hold; they’re locked anyway, so it isn’t really a big deal. It seems there are several games on the landscape, too; Old World bacce, croquet, mini-golf, and a tarp that seems to function as a water slide.
Escape might come to your mind; heaven knows why, this place seems like fun! But the Backyard has been fenced in, anyway. The fence is dull white, made of a synthetic material you can’t seem to place. It reaches 10 feet. While that isn’t high, you may notice the black discs spread heavily across the top of it. If you haven’t been tipped off by the signs nailed into the fence with bomb graphics, congrats, you’ve found bombs! A notice states that this fence is impenetrable to anyone trying to break into the Manor. Well, thank goodness. The Remnants of Despair are gone, but...you never know if some wacko with a knife is gonna decide he wants a spot on the late night news.
In the left corner of the yard, tucked into a small alcove of the house, is a dial. Rather than numbers, however, it seems to have various graphics of sun, snow, rain, clouds, lightning...huh. There’s a small pin in the middle of the knob that slides to the outer edges of it, but you’re not sure what it does.
