From the evidence Taro gathered from the ? ? ? Room, he was almost certain that Willow would have some very interesting pieces of evidence that he would need to encounter.
He walked with Mr. Denial over into Willow's bedroom where, upon seeing Willow's bedroom door, an interesting question popped into his head about his partner. Even if he was very incorrect about the nature of the game, that doesn't mean he will be able to be hypothetical about his thoughts on the case. He still has to have some input, no matter if he thought it was real or fake.

I mean, who is the first "killer" of this game?"
Taro has been around enough people like Iocus with a lack of insight and being willfully wisked away into a fantasy life where nothing bad happened. He has become somewhat skilled at appeasing them. He would need a therapist in order to break Mr. Hilaries of his severe denial of the situation.
